I know now is not the best time to sell a car. Im trying to sell my M3 E46. I put it on autotrader last weekend and was curious what you guys have experienced.

Yup.

I put mine in the autotrader last week and have gotten calls just about every day since it posted. One serious buyer is flying in next week to look at it. I would say you should have better luck selling your car than me though. I think there are more people in the market for a car like yours, than a car like mine. Your car is beautiful BTW. Good luck.

hmmm, maybe it is TOO good looking? I would have thought there would be a more serious market for this car, but I've had one phone call and the guy ended up buying a cheaper M3.

When selling a car, you just NEVER know. I have sold cars the first week posted on autotrader and the next car took 4 months. I personally have the best luck with AJC classifieds.

With Autotrader, I had tons and tons of calls, tire kickers etc and no hard bites. AJC gets a few strange calls but not the volume of people wanting to sell me some other ads etc like autotrader.

After the 2nd autotrader experience, I bought a MetroPCS phone solely for the ad and stopped service after selling the car. I had people bugging the shit out of me 6 months later about the first car I sold.

I havent been watching E46 M3's that much, but autotrader should expose the car to a much wider audience than AJC. I did notice on Autotrader that the prices have been dropping a bunch on E46 M3s. As low as $25k for a 01 with 60k miles on it. The market is full of decent cars at the moment and prices tend to run between private party and trade in. Think there is a flood of lease cars coming into the market. You just have to hold out for the right buyer looking for a clean, nice car.

I really think that the folks who are considering a used E46 are waiting for the new M3 to come out as the market will quickly be flooded with E46's and the prices will drop substantially, most likely.

I think you overestimate the average consumer.
