I don't know if I'd pay that much for a single ticket to see anybody....but in your defense, they are in the 'class' of timeless or historical so have a great time!

My next big cash dump for a concert will be Stevie Wonder. I hope he hits ATL on his next tour.

Think the year was 88 or 89 when the Stones had their first come back tour in 10-15years?

About 10 0f us stood by phones and started calling for tickets when they went on sale. I luck out and get 4 tickets center stage, 4th row back for the superdome show in new orleans. Think the tickets were $45 or something like that. Expensive for a concert back then, but not crazy expensive. I wasnt a huge stones fan but wanted to see them at least once in my lifetime and they were advertising this show as the one and only tour they were going to do.

At the dome, we are walking around outside and people are offering us $1500 per ticket. I was going to take it but the GF really wanted to see them and hit me with "this will be the only chance you ever get to see the stones live"

So we go to the show and enjoyed it but I kept thinking about that $3,000 I could have pocketed. Which was huge money in college. About 2 years later, the stones start to tour again. I was like "wtf, they sold that tour as the last tour" Guess they have been touring non stop since 90 or so. Pisses me off to think I could have made 3G's in college and still watched them many times since then.

I wouldnt pay over $50 for a stones show, no efffn way $400. They are good but not that good and they do look like ancient guys on stage.

Can you get them off of the internet? I used to get mine off varsitybooks.com. Both Amazon and Ebay have textbooks too. And that whole "new edition" is just BS. I think all they do is change the page numbers, just so they can get more money. I used a lot of the older editions and did just fine.

Yeah I still work there but half my professors ordered the books from Engineers so I'm getting the shaft.

And I'm starting to think it wasn't the smartest decision to spend that much on the tickets... it is a floor seat though so the resale value will hopefully stay up so I can recoup my money if I decide not to go. I help run the sound board with a friend and they were everybit as good. And the sad part is that was not my first concert. I can add Grand Funk, Iron Butterfly, CS&N, CSN&Y. Joplin, BS&T, Three Dog Night, Guess Who, Who, Beach Boys, Four Seasons, Billy Joel (as warm up), Elton John (first tour), Neal Diamond (Greek Theater-not the album), Greatful Dead (69), ELO, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Credence, and those were just up to about 74. I would have to find my old ticket box to get the entire list. I used to work part time at radio stations so a bunch of tickets were free and I traveled to large cities so all the acts were there. An NO I did not go to Woodstock. And YES, I am old.

And YES, I am old.

who cares if you're old? The fact that you saw all those bands/performers is great!! I wish I had been around to see them all perform. I know some of them are still touring, but it's not the same. And the bands out there now....well, they don't make them like they used to...

i disagree, maybe in terms of mainstream/ what you hear on the radio crap. but their is other music out there besides what the radio plays and it's glorious.

Ehhh. I could take it or leave it. Rascal Flatts opened, and they were horrible. However, I saw them in Savannah last March in their own concert, and they were great!! Maybe it was the difference in venues.
