i've been having the idea to do a 2 tone full leather interior in my car since its so blah now. I fooled around in photoshop for a bit and made these pics.

first is the original
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f101/azvin/interioordoororg1.jpg

this is what i came up with along with carbon fiber trim which i'm going to make as well.
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f101/azvin/interiordoora1.jpg

with out the cf trim it looks like crap, but the trim is the first thing i will be doing so that's not a problem.
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f101/azvin/interiordoorb1.jpg

I left a few pieces orginal in there because I'm not sure what i would do with them, like the door trim and plastic enterance piece. As for the 2 colors i used, well I suck at changing colors in photoshop so they were the only 2 that didn't look entierly fake that i could do. And i may just use that alcantra stuff for the inside of the door panels instead of another leather. I dunno yet.

but anyway feedback would be appreciated. :)

To me, it looks like something from a pimped out Buick or something. But, to each his own.

Ya, not feeling it much either, colors are too brown. But as Snay said, to each his own. I re-did mine not too long ago..I love the classy stock look

Painted wood glossy black
Replaced wood shifter with leather
Covered shifter console with leather
Swapped out vinyl door panels with leather ones fram a 95 E34 I parted out
Redyed front seats
Replaced stock radio

thats a clean interior.

And i know the colors i used were kinda extreme, but as i said earlier i suck at colors in photoshop. The colors aren't to important now anyway, i can figure those out later. The photo is more for getting an idea of the layout of leather. I'm going to fool aroud with a photo of a front dash and i'll try to find some better colors. When thats done i'll update.

Ive wondered what black and tan would look like. While looking for a car to buy last year, i found a 535 with a black and white interior, i thought it looked pretty good. The seat bolsters were black with white center.

I was lucky enough to trade my wood one for the leather with a fellow forum member but I know Bavauto used to have a really nice leather one even though I can't seem to find it right now on their site. Other then that, they pop up on Ebay here and there.

Black and tan would look nice, I've seen it in other cars. The alcantra inserts would be very choice in the doors. I would also vote for the piano black wood trim, it's cheap and easy too, just paint the wood.

Still too bland and dark. Use some lighter colors and stay away from Earth tones. And since your car is green, white would look good and anything light like that. Tan seems like it would look pretty good, but maybe the picture doesn't do it justice. Make the seats two-tone as well and that wouldn't look as bland.

Take an m5 interior. Thats what I thought you were going to try.. like color the trim panels and inner seats and stuff... black/red or black/blue, etc, m badge (for instance from abrahams)

ugh! :thumbdown. whats with the orange trim and red 2tone? it looks like some ricer's failed attempt at a multicolor scheme... Im not feelin it at all

I was thinking about 2 tone seats. And as for color I don't want white, red or anything else... flashy. If I do take challenge in the summer I'm would use brown/tan/burgandy shades. And finally having it tastefully and well done it a major factor in doing this. If I can't acheve that then I guess I won't do it... but I'm sure I can. :redspot

A simple way to really improve it would be a black dash and black door top pieces. The black and tan two tone looks really good with the wood, and you can get the pieces from somebody that's parting. Buy some better tan pieces to get rid of those that are beat up. Try to get too crazy with it and it's just going to look like a rice nightmare.

I'm going to be doing some interior work on my e34 pretty soon. I have all black leather interior and I am going to do silver suede around the shifter and the inserts on all 4 doors. I think it will looks sick and match my silver headliner and rear deck lid.

I always loved that car. You better take as good care of it as Ben and Kent did!!! How many miles are on it now? Everytime it comes up for sale its just a few months after when I would have considered buying it. First time was a few months after I got my car when Ben sold it to Kent, second time I had already started law school when Kent first thought of selling it. One day!

Yeah, she's a beauty all right. I went to my first BMW meet tonight with the NEW car. Needless to say, it was a big hit.
Kent only put on 15k miles in 5 years:eek:
188k now.
And its better in person, a joy to drive. Ill take great care of it, dont you worry about that. Shell be garaged nightly and only driven on weekends.
Here are a few pictures from tonights meet
