Below are some before and after pics of my 540iT. I recently swapped out the stock non-sport suspension with Koni adjustable shocks and H&R sport springs. The fronts are Koni/H&R, the rear is the self leveling rear suspension that came from the factory.

As you can see in the pics, the ride height in the back is a little high right now. It's definitely got a 'raked' look to it, but I kind of like it :) I plan on going to the dealer this week to have them lower the rear of the car by reporgramming the ECU. I hope that I can find a dealer that is willing to do this for me. I also need to get an alignment done soon.

Anyway, I am very pleased with the handling and ride comfort of the combination so far. It's not as harsh as I thought it would be (shocks are currently set at 1 turn from full soft).

Next up is an M5 rear sway bar and maybe some 19" rims.

What a difference, looks great. So, reprogramming the ECU can adjust the height of the rear suspension? I think it looks fine as is but of course, it's ultimately your decision. :buttrock

springs and shocks will settle within the first month or 2. wait 2 months and then decide if you want to go lower...

if you go with 19's are you gonna sell the M-pars?

I'd stick with the M-pars, they look hot with the drop

Thanks for the compliments.

Regarding 'skareparks' questions....yeah, if I get 19's I will sell the M parallels (they are replicas).

Did you do the install yourself? I've been thinking about doing the Eibach kit myself...

well, sort of. I assisted a few mechanically-skilled folks that I know.

hmm maybe I can hit you guys up when I redo my suspension as well - I can supply large quantities of delicious microbrews in return. I don't really want to do a drop (as I have sport suspension so it's already dropped a bit) just swap out my shocks and struts.

Looks good !

I wondered how people with tourings upgraded their suspension. It seems like people just swap out the fronts (thank goodness since the E39 rears really SUCk to install).

Where were you able to find a set for the fronts only ? Or did you purchase an entire set and only use the fronts ?

I think the rear looks fine.

Looks awesome, great job.
Love the color as well!

I think the rear looks good as it is presently.
