whats up guys. I need little help on my auto tranny. I have a 92 525i. The thing is that my auto tranny is slipping. I took it to a tranny shop and they told me that it would need a rebuild. I dont have the money for that. Well i found a tranny. But, the thing is the part #. What i want to know is if this tranny would work for my car.
my tranny: GM LK Part# 98016871 F23 3892820
other : GM MK part# 98017133 f25 4019725
This is where i found it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8028272746&sspagename=ADME%3AL%3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1

Thanks

before you dump $$$ on another tranny and even more on labor, change the transmission fluid and make sure it's at the correct level. even slight deficiencies often cause slipping.

If you don't feel like or know how to do it yourself, go to the stealership. this is the case where you could benefit enormously from the bmw service dept.

Yup, I'd say get the old fluid dumped and refilled with new fluid first.

That's what the auto shop probably will do as their "rebuild" anyways.

Take it to another place and just instruct them to change the fluid (with the right fluid, of course) and then make up your mind what you want to do if the transmission still has a problem.
