How long would you be in California for it?

TAMUmpower

I cant justify the miles on my 56K M3. Maybe when it has 70K+. I would love to go though. I wish there was a big Texas meet. Maybe we should do something about that.

I'd like to go to Bimmer Fest, but I hate road trips that last longer than 6 hours.

LOL - given my last post, I'm sure you picked up by now I am having major roomate problems, mostly hit em this week. I have roomates that have major drug use problems and major socialization problems.

Back on topic - if you come out here for bfest not only will I house you, but I will install the trunklid on your car for free and not charge you for the trunklid. ;) Seriously, I have so many E36 parts it's riduculous.

I'd like to get there w/a whole day before and then leave the next day or so.
Maybe spend the night in Phoenix? Caravan w/ guys from Tucson or Phoenix.
About the miles, yeah it's far but it would be neat. Bunch of smokes, cds and redbulls and it will fly bye fast.

SQ, I'll take you up on that. All I need is a floor and a shitter/shower/sink.
I can use the shower for all three if I have to .

LOL - it would be MUCH cheaper just to ship the trunklid. Unless of course you were gonna have someone else change it out for you, then it might be cheaper to save on the labor.

I can still help you guys find a cheap and or free place to stay ya know. I am more than willing to help out bf.c members who travel great distances as noted in the past. I've housed Godfather ON, Absolutealex, CStricker who have come down from NorCal. Also, if you hitup sbeuroclub.com you can find someone who's actually in SB that might be willing to lend a pad that's even closer to b.fest.

April huh I may go, What would be the plan, Ive gone from san antonio to phoenix in one day in a suburban, im sure i could do it quicker in my e36. PS if I go I dont know how many but Id be able to get marriott rooms for $35 a night. but seriously if there were a few detectors at 110-120 we could probalby make it all the way in one long day. 1400 miles, am I the only one who wouldnt mind doing 100+ mph and about 12 hours of driving?

Tickets/TX DPS would stop me from doing that. 85-90 wouldn't be too bad with SOME blasts here and there but the odds are against us.
I drove back from El Paso to San Antonio on the 2nd of this year and saw 5 DPS on the way back.

Driving nonstop from San Deigo to Dallas took me over 20 hours I think like 22. I normally stay the night in el paso or Flagstaff if I go more north. If theres gonna be snow in flagstaff in april then I'll go south along the border.

Think I'll stay in LA and drive up to Santa Barbara for the show so I can spend the rest of the time around the LA area.

It depends on whether I have tests scheduled the following Monday or not. It sucks that Bimmerfest is usually on either April or May, makes the scheduling a bit more difficult :(

Will probably leave Dallas the 5th getting to LA on the 6th. Then leave Socal on the 9th or 10th. I usually bring back bunch of california beer with me.

Southern Route: take 20 till you hit I-10 then stay the night in El Paso then on 10 all the way to LA going thru Phoenix.

Northern Route: take 287 north to Amarillo. Take 40 west to Albuquerque stay the night in Flagstaff. You can leave Flagstaff and take 17 down and pick up I-10 in Phoenix or stay on 40 and cut thru the desert in AZ going south on some back roads. Or Stay on 40 and take 15 south into LA.

I prefer the northern route it takes alil bit longer but has more to see and not just boring flat desert like going south would be.

Depends on the weather which road I'll take. The northern passes over some mountains which might still be snow covered. There are some really nice twisty roads going the northern route plus some small tucked away towns to stop and eat at. Plenty of place's to take pictures along the way. Last time we stopped off at the Grand Canyon for a few hours. This trip I might stop at the meteor impact site.

I wont drive nonstop did it once and never again.
