LOL

Its a shame for you to sell this before we had a chance to race,
but I know its going to get some big money.

You wait and see it should be as big as that other auction of the ibscrott alpina b6. Do I hear 20K plus?

Later,

What are the odds? I get email notification of any new alpina stuff on ebay like many of us do. Its always bultaco this or alpina roundel that. As soon as I decide to list my alpina there is a alpina 2002 that starts 2 hrs before me.
I think the e21 is being overshadowed by the 2002 now :mad

Question: How many people are watching your car right now? Only you can see this...

Not sure what you reserve is, but no problems...
The bid of your car does not matter, it just matters the last min or so in your auction.
People will hang back and wait and big aggressively at the end.

I just looked at that 2002, and it's pretty nice, but I'd take the B6 in a heartbeat. Oh yeah, that ///M emblem on it's trunklid is retarded.

Lets just say the reserve is lower than the current bid on the 2002.
Im just going by the hitcount, # of bids and amount of the highest bid. I know the 2002 is more disirable to the masses (I guess).
I want the wheels on that 2002.

I had some good fun in the Alpina but Im moving and really need something I can put miles on. Ive still got the 2002 though with no intention of selling. :evil2

Nice pic of the 5-er. That thing is looking good! I am glad you bought that off me and not some guy who was going to trash it. You need the Alpina. I wanted it for myself but I wound up buying this 3 weeks ago:

Too Bad, :(
I thought it would go for more. At this price it would almost be worth it to keep it rather than let it go..
as I dont think you could replace it for 7k.
I have more that in just my paint job.

I wanted to hang out with you and all, this spring...and have fun.
Anyway who purchased it? Will it stay in this region?

These are, and have been my exact thoughts the whole time. I really thought it would go much higher than 7k and thought making the reserve that low would generate more bids. What do I know.
I am happy to report that its going to a good and deserving home. I spoke with the guy several times before he bid. He has owned B6's before and has a couple 323i's. Hopefully I can get him to post update pics on Bimmerforums so I can still see her. To be honest Im really going to miss the car. I didnt have enough time with the Alpina and the chances of seeing another one come buy are slim to none. It is definately a special car that I will never forget. :cry

anyway is it staying in New England or I am one of the only few 323i left?

My take on these cars, is that most people who buy them for a collection would rather spend the money on a car that has been restored or already is original. They dont want to do it themselves. I think thats why the other B6went for so much money, because it was basically perfect, plus it had half the miles. Personally I love the lapis blue, and if the car had lower miles I would have probably tried really hard to get it, but judging by the pictures and the parts it needed to bring it back to original specs, I estimated close to 10,000 to do it right, so your 17 grand into a car with a 150,000 miles, and thats hard to recoup. Plus the Alpina parts are getting harder and harder to get, and finding the exhaust system for that car is going to be really difficult.
On the other hand, if the guy who bought it just wants to enjoy it the way it is, he got a really nice piece of history and performance for a great price. Just my two cents...

The B6 is going to a very good home. A friend of mine bought it.

Joe you have more the $7k in your paint? At that price another $500 bucks slipped to the painter might have expedited the job to under 2 years. I was also surprised to see you as a bidder on the b6.

Bruce, I was thinking about it for my Dad. He loves my 323i.
But he wants to retire and he is going to get something even nicer.
Maybe Italian. I am going to Italy for 3 weeks so maybe then..
who knows. He clearly told me he did not want it..so, I stopped bidding.

I talked him out of an Alpina Z8, due to the fact you need a place to store it, and he would be super worried about it all the time.
He was owned two 5 series - a 86 535i bronzit and a 2002 5 er. He owns a Z4, and used to own a Z3.

Here is a picture of me driving of them: Its the 5er with 17 inch rims, and sport package.

Yes Bruce, I am happy its going to a good home, but I wish it was in New England as I am lonely over here. Anyway, I wont tell you how much, because its inappropriate for me to do so, but my 323i is all painted. This was way more than what that Alpina car sold for which was -IMO -undervalued. But my car I always loved and its been a childhood dream of mine. It was a large undertaking due to the car's extensive rust, roof replacement, and frame damage, on top of acid etching and restoring my car. It was in terrible shape when it when in. Also its taken a while do to the fact, I live in a condo building and I can not park it in back of it. There have been break in, smash and grabs in the parking lot, and my 323i is going over my dad's house.
I had a cover like CJ's and people cutting the grass or visiting would pull my cover off and look underneath. :mad Also, another reason why is The guy restoring my 323i got into a bar fight, and when backing
up his buddy, the dumbass he was in the dispute with, walked home, got a gun,and came back. It had armor piercing bullets, and he shot the body shop guy! He almost died, and this also set the job back about two years.

Yeah :D lol. the long wait is over bro. soon..

The guy who shot him has been locked up, and will never get out.
In the end we all got really lucky..cause it was armor piercing, it went right threw. A normal bullet and and an inch closer, and that would have been it.
Regular bullets leave larger exits that this one did.
Still being shot was very aweful, and the guy restoring my car was out for a long time....

Pimpin jacket, is that pleather?
OT- thread hijack.. Thanks . Its a present from a old girlfreind. I really liked it for about a year,
it was on display at the mall. I could not afford it, so I waited for clearance.
This one was on the actual mall window mannequin.

Its a D&G (dolce and gabbana) jacket which is black leather on one side, and a type of hide on the other. Its reversible, and believe it or not, I spotted it on Johny Trang in the fast and furious in the scene where he is introduced as a character. .. .

It was on the dummy -not me - at the store. I waited till after they had clearance and the got it for a 1/4 of what the real price was.
This one was the window display item. They had sold every other one..
