GGray 01-06-2006, 01:08 PM Where can you get the top mount turbo manifold that puts the turbo at the front up top. ebydrc 01-06-2006, 01:57 PM Custom. GGray 01-06-2006, 01:59 PM Thats what I thought...Oh well. ebydrc 01-06-2006, 02:17 PM boostlogic sells the best manifold you can buy IMHO, its worth the money. Eric BMW 01-06-2006, 07:37 PM highboostinm3 is selling his gt30r top mount kit. GGray 01-06-2006, 07:41 PM BL manifold is out of my price range right now...It is pretty darn slick though! i would have to agree best turbo manifold out there for our cars. Have to check how much Highboosting wants for his...Im on a ticght budget..Well I should say I am working to get more bang for the buck...:stickoutt highboostingm3 01-06-2006, 07:46 PM BL manifold is out of my price range right now...It is pretty darn slick though! i would have to agree best turbo manifold out there for our cars. Have to check how much Highboosting wants for his...Im on a ticght budget..Well I should say I am working to get more bang for the buck...:stickoutt Manifold was one-off $2500. I sold my entire turbo kit a month or so ago. Top mount is extremely expensive and very tough to do because of space limitations. I had to reroute my A/C lines and dent in the body in front of the strut tower plus cut a hole for the piping from compressor to intercooler. It is no walk in the park mang!:nono GGray 01-06-2006, 07:54 PM Good info on the top mount I'll axe it from the list of manifolds! I actually have been thinking about trying the SS autochrome one with some aditional supports and expansion slot the manifold. It would be much lighter than a cast unit. s0crates82 01-06-2006, 08:15 PM be very, very, very careful with an ss autochrome manifold. their welds and steel are super thin. dangerously so. there are a lot of turbo guys that cut their teeth on ss autochrome stuff only to get a blown-apart piece of steel in their engine bay. ebydrc 01-06-2006, 08:20 PM be very, very, very careful with an ss autochrome manifold. their welds and steel are super thin. dangerously so. there are a lot of turbo guys that cut their teeth on ss autochrome stuff only to get a blown-apart piece of steel in their engine bay. i believe he said he was going to brace/support the manifold s0crates82 01-06-2006, 08:22 PM i believe he said he was going to brace/support the manifold you're right, he did, but i've just read SO many horror stories... ebydrc 01-06-2006, 08:24 PM yeah. its cool last time i posted about i horror story i got shunned or however you spell that. and1c 01-06-2006, 09:18 PM be very, very, very careful with an ss autochrome manifold. their welds and steel are super thin. dangerously so. there are a lot of turbo guys that cut their teeth on ss autochrome stuff only to get a blown-apart piece of steel in their engine bay. All I have to say is: MADE IN CHINA highboostingm3 01-07-2006, 01:14 AM SS autochrome unit.:nono Get the SPA manifold! Goofynick6 01-07-2006, 03:31 AM is the spa manifold cast iron? is that the same one techno555 is selling? Yeah, the "audspeed" version (just a spa manifold) is now selling for $600 instead of $450, glad I got one from a BFC member for $410 :) Nick and1c 01-07-2006, 06:58 AM Get the SPA manifold! It is a great design, very strong cast, already comes with a wastegate flange and is only $450! Where are these SPA manifolds from then apart from ebay?! $450 is cheap (or is it 600 now?) and they look so Damn heavy!!! I mean how much do those things weigh :confused Also, what sort of power have they made on cars?? am I right in thinking 600hp is about their ceiling limit or is that total bo**ox...!!?? Ive seen that on Audspeeds site I think but I think it may have been referring to the turbo kit they were flogging :shifty Brad D. 01-07-2006, 07:01 AM Some people are using SS Autochrome products without any issues, that is unless you count the fact that it doesn't fit right out of the box, you have to modify it and/or re-drill holes, sometimes you have to re-port the runners, and other issues, like brace it because it falls apart. It pays to buy the best the first time if you can afford it. GGray 01-07-2006, 11:23 AM Where can you get one I can't find them on ebay? I agree i would rather have a reliable unit. The SS unit also does not have a waste gate flange. Anyone know where to buy the SPA unit? 450 sounds good. I know the cast will be more durable. and1c 01-07-2006, 01:38 PM Heres the ssautochrome mani http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1353 and I believe this is the SPA unit...sold by Audspeed http://www.audspeed.com/pages/10/index.htm eurotekm3 01-07-2006, 02:03 PM I second the SPA manifold...good and cheap So whats going on with the outside of your m3 highboostingm3?? It is no walk in the park mang!:nono It's tough, but isn't it worth it for the shorter piping to the FMIC and cooler location? At least for the cool side. Didn't you have the cool side facing up and the hot side facing down? I was considering doing a top mount... Just a trick i learned with building Honda motors. Theses blocks are very strong and I almost wish I stayed with the factory 10.5:1 or have even gone 11:1. Right now I am currantly building a new motor for my NDRA Pro turbo 4 car.
