I did a search but didn't come up with anything. Has anyone tried the clear protective covers that will go on the hood/panels, etc to protect them from rock chips, etc??? I believe it is called autoshield???
It is a clear protective covering. Has anyone had experience with this? Is there problems of oxidation underneath the shield???
Are there alternative products to use to protect the hood, e.g., something similar to the clear covers that protects ellipsoid lenses?
Thanks

Why not a bra, This seran wrap stuff is just plain ugly to me. I saw it on a new M3 and did not like it. I use a Colgan bra and am very happy with it. I have no stone chips anywhere.
It is a matter of taste. I just like to be able to remove the bra anytime I want to and wash and wax the area under it

There are many, many sources for this protective film: Bavarian Autosport, X-Pel, and BMW, just to name a few. Circle BMW has part numbers and pricing here: http://www.circlebmw.com/parts/access/clearprot.htm
I have no experience with it. A few on this board do. Try searching with the words "x-pel" or "film" and see what you come up with.

It looks like I will be trying out the 3M film. I have a Colgan Bra, but, for me, I don't like it. Even though it says it will not scratch the front/paint. I would still think it would because of dust particles becoming trapped underneath, dirt, etc.
Plus, I personally do not like the way the bra looks on the car.
I think I will try out the film on the 325is and see if it looks well and if it does, then probably apply it on the M....
Thanks again
