Anybody have any knowledge of making blow through carbs on say Weber 40 DCOE's? Pondering this set up with a turbo on my 02 could be fun. I know people are going to say just fuel inject it well i have heard of and seen some impressive carbed turbos but never on side drafts so wondering if anyone has experience with this. Also consider the possible usage of a weber 32/36 down draft. Thanks for the help

you can blow through side draught webers, easier option is suck through SU carbs, very easy to tune

thought about boxed SU's???
i know i should say "do efi, its fully better" but i wont.
a webber shouldnt be TOO hard to mod, but i havent seen one used.
go for it dude, dont forget the frontmount - or you may as well do drawthru.

I would blow through a set of sidedrafts this way you can run an intercooler. You cannot run an intercooler with a drawthrough setup. The carbs floats have to be filled with foam are get plastic ones so they wont collapse and seal off the back of the chokes. You have to make a box/plenum to bolt onto the front of the carbs and a RRFPR to control fuel pressure. Tuning is a different story you'll
need pactience and alot of jets to get it right. I did it before and ran 10psi on my daily driver for a few years before switching to fuel injection. Power BTW was 200rwhp. I know it hurts the eyes to look at it:lol

Yea I knew that I would to box in the carbs, some people have suggested going to a single side draft that way it takes out some of the constant tuning you have to do with the dual side drafts. Good and tight couple of questions
1. how did you make your box air tight?
2. how did you set up your intecooler?
Thanks

Made a gasket between the box and carbs, bolted through the front using rubber O rings on the bolt heads with washers.
Installed a small intercooler from a eclipse in front of drivers side wheel so it was outside of the engine bay.
