View Full Version : Music Midtown cancelled
count_schemula 01-05-2006, 06:43 PM I have not been since it actually left midtown, but I know it turned into a pretty big deal over the years...
Atlanta, the city too busy to throw a proper party... :(

Doctor Wha 01-05-2006, 07:15 PM Atlanta, the city too brainless to throw a proper party... :(
Adjusted for current reality.
That thing's been a cluster for the last few years. No great loss, really. :thumbdown
delgadoduvidoso 01-05-2006, 07:15 PM Buncha haters ran it out of town.
EvilClassic 01-05-2006, 07:30 PM its sucked the past two years, well the bands sucked, I felt pretty good still tho.
Hell Raiser 106 01-05-2006, 07:46 PM damn I loved midtown
Cwaters 01-05-2006, 07:57 PM I only went once, to see Foo. If we hadn't had the VIP passes that got us up out of the crowd, we'd have left before they started...but then I'm not very fond of being crammed up against drunk people who think it's ok to fondle my wife...
joecoolinatl 01-06-2006, 01:49 AM in other words, he didnt make enough profit last year like he wanted. hmmm might be because the ticket prices last year were double that of the year before and no one wanted to pay them. go figure
Jean-Claude 01-06-2006, 02:06 AM I wanted to go last year but their prices were too completely stupid high for what you got. I simply could not justify it for only wanting to see the Pixies and White Stripes.
jokestar 01-06-2006, 10:43 AM i went to this past one, but mostly because i wanted to smoke joints in the crowd and just chill to the music
but i think big drunk crowds are gay, so no loss, and drugs are bad now, so no loss there either.
tsbmw 01-06-2006, 11:05 AM Nother huge factoid, Clear Channel gave Alex Cooley teh boot, Peter Conlon is a whore with no soul, the true soul behind this event was Alex Cooley
Other then this, the venue sux considerin they had to deal with the City of Greed aka Atlanta and Fulton aka bullshit county
Look for it to pop back up in a santitized site near you soon ( Alpharetta, Forsyth Co)
That is all
jgerry 01-06-2006, 04:29 PM No great loss. I remember going to the first few years, when it wasn't wall-to-wall crowded, and that was great. Much fun. But since it got more corporate-ized and more crowded, and kept moving locations... Not so much fun anymore. I have no interest in buying $4 bottles of water; I want good music and good crowds!
Good riddance! I won't miss it.
