As of Jan. 1st of 2006, vehicle inspections performed in North Carolina will no longer be doing emissions test on cars before ODBII. A visual inspection will still be done. If your car came with cats from the factory, they had better be there even in after market exhaust applications. They have to be there......don't have to be functional.....w00t!

That is correct. The same applies to all the emissions components; cars with air pumps need to have them, and they need to "appear" functional still.
There is also no more tricking the PC's for the OBDII cars.. they either have to be fixed, or fail :(

I work for a mechanic on Statesville Rd on the north end of Charlotte.
And yes...Trigun owns and so does Cowboy Bebop.

i used to be an inspector and am glad i don't have to worry about that anymore.
