View Full Version : 1983 E21 320i.........what's it worth
M3inNC 01-03-2006, 07:25 PM My father-in-law wants me to look into selling his 1983 320i. He bought it in 1987 and has all the maintenance records on it since new. Two owner car with a professional repaint job due to being keyed sometime in the late 80's.
It is a coupe, navy ext. with tan cloth interior. I think it has 155k miles. Runs and looks great. 100% stock. Any ideas what it might be worth? I can post pictures in a few days.
waferman 01-03-2006, 10:13 PM Whats the paint like? Whats the compression in all the cylinders? Which rims? Lots o variables, but the right buyer might give $3000 if its great, more likely $2400 or less, depending on the things I mentioned.

really? never heard before that e21 has 4 doors... probably just my ignorance. anyway i saw from somewhere (i think if i'm not wrong the official bmw site or something like that, talking about 30th anniversary) that bmw doesnt call e21 and e30 2-door forms as coupes. they start calling their first 3-series coupe the e36 in 2-door form followed by e46. in whatever configuration they call e21 and e30 sedan/saloon. anyway... :)
yeah ive heard that too, they called the e24 (6 series) coupes and the e21's saloons in the 80's when they were new. even though from my understanding any 2 door cept trucks and hatchbacks and stuff are coupes....
Al Canuck 01-04-2006, 04:18 AM E21 is definately not a coupe. It's a 2 door sedan, same as an 02 was, same as an E30 was.

depend though (any goodies like recaros, sport steering?). i might say 2000/2500 (well i guess) but pictures say it all.

oh yeah i got it from that alpina323ci dude. front bar in good condition with some crack down the bottom of the bar, a few stone chips, and missing rubber strip and he told me that the guy he got it from replaced it with some alu-look plastic strip with double sided tape. look very crappy though. do you know whether the euro bumper rubber strip is a direct fit into the motorsport?
MAD LIL E21 01-05-2006, 07:57 AM ask tom on ecca he has a motosport front on his e21:D
buckwheat 01-05-2006, 12:36 PM I think they might be being generous and would look closer to 1500. But yeah pics tell.

Jmabarone 01-05-2006, 01:33 PM do you know whether the euro bumper rubber strip is a direct fit into the motorsport?
the motorsport bumper/air dam is made to look like a euro bumper, so the rubber strip should fit.
