you can see the difference from the one on the left vs. the finished product on the right. it looks alot better and is alot brighter. it lit up the side of the car across the street :D.

there is only one empty space and it can be used for another brake light or a fog. im not sure if there is an easy way to toggle between the two. i just chose to have the rear fogs.

Do the US spec cars have the switch for the rear fogs?

I use my rear fogs every now and then.. fog, heavy rain, tailgators etc :)

No. The U.S. spec's don't have that. I wish they did. Acctually, never mind. I don't even have fogs anymore. lol I know the Mercedes Benz W126's were one of the first European cars to have a rear fog light switch. I had one of those. But I never used it on my old Benz.

What do you mean your lights are different???

It's the pull pull out knob closer to the steering wheel (exactly the same as the headlight knob).

Note: The fogs won't turn on unless your full headlights are on. Ie No parkers.
Also, there is a bright orange symbol illuminated on the instrument cluster.

OT of this thread....Barry, did you mount your bonnet pins yourself??? If so, how did you mount them and where? Thanks mate!

Cheers

cool. Nic did something similiar to his E21, tho instead of having a rear fog he put in both additional bulbs & used them for extra brake lights. IMO, the brake light visibility is significantly increased.

you should be able to wire up that same bulb to be able to light up w/ the brakes & a rear fog switch. just have 2 power leads going to that one bulb (one from the brakes & the other from the fog switch)

thanks j. i really think ill look in to that. i agree that you get way more brake visibility that way. would i need dual filiment bulbs too?

i can't quite think straight about electrics @ 5:30 in the morning :) so i could be wrong.

edit: wait, scratch what i mentioned in the previous post....2 power leads to that one bulb would cause the fog switch to power the whole circuit (thus lighting up the other brake lights). so yeah, maybe a dual filament would work easier. the single filament way still seems do-able (just more complex)

cabin fever you could say. but we did this later in the evening so it wasnt raining. (well..atleast not in santa clarita) that and this whole ting was spiked by the fact my buddy just got his euro elipsoide head lights for his E34. so all the talk of lighting sprung this and i had the parst literally laying around.

I hate to burst the bubble in here, but the rear fogs (on BMW's at least) was on the driver side. At least it is on my 323 and on old 3.0s.

Edit: They were on the right in GB for obvious reasons.

My Brit market 323i actually has dual rear fogs.

The Aussie spec versions which are pretty much Euro Spec have dual also.
