so my current solution for conencting the ipod to my car is the tape adapter, it sounds great, has bass and everything(belkin is what im using if anyone was wondering).. im happy with it until i upgrade my audio and do an icelink or something.. but the other day while driving this grinding noise started coming..

i thought it was my car, but it turns out it was just the cassette player..
when i have the tape adapter in, it will play the music fine, but it has this annoying grinding noise coming from the internals of the cassette player.. if i hit rewind, fast forward or any of those, the sound goes a away and the cassette player will try to do the task (cant cause there is nothing to rewind really) and the sound will start again when it goes to regular playing..
does anyone know why this is occuring? or an easy fix for it?

the music from the ipod still sounds great, but the grinding noise comes through the music if i have it at a moderate volume..

thanks for the help

Mine does the same thing. Take out the cassette adapter and shake it, then you'll see why is making noises.

Mine does the same thing. Take out the cassette adapter and shake it, then you'll see why is making noises.

is it really because of the tape?
the first like 2 hours of owning it, it was silent.. then all of a sudden it started making noise.. i tested it with a friend's tape adapter who said his doesnt do that..and i got the same noise, so i think it is the cassette player..i dunno though

any other opinions on what it could be?

Mine is exactly the same. At first it plays fine then that annoying noise comes in and I just blast the music to drown it haha. But I usually just take out the tape and shake it and it will be silent for another hour or two.
