think this is a good deal to start my turbo project? I have all the parts, but instead of using the head I have and having it rebuilt, I could start with a new one. But this has the injector bosses in the head, will it interfere with the 318i fuel injection system and manifold???
If it will work fine, I'll be happy.

I was checking that listing out yesterday. That guy has some pretty sketchy feedback.

it shouldn't interfere at all w/ the 318i manifold or fuel injectors. really, you could use any m10 head w/ the 318i manifold (the holes in the 1.8 e21 heads would need to be plugged)

have you found out any more info about this head? looks like it's at least been hot-tanked & new valve guides were installed. do you know if it has had a valve-job and/or checked for cracks?

not sure what that machining is where 1.8 k-jet injectors would normally go (my 318i head just has a regular casting finish on those 4 spots). here's my 318i head, fresh from the machine shop:

I have used "ask seller a question" with that guy or company many times in the past to ask him to put the correct year for the application on his items. He has this head correct, but in the past he posted that the heads would fit from 77-83, or just "320i head". The last time he actually answered me and corrected the date. Whats bad is when a bunch of guys bid on the damn thing anyway!

I would be cautious, he has the disclaimer that the pic might not be the actual head you are bidding on.

I would not bid without seeing pics of the actual head- good pics of all 6 sides of the head so you can have a decent idea of the actual condition of the head... let alone what head it actually is!

If it is for the 84/85 318i it won't have hole in the head for injectors...
