The H1 bulbs is for the European Ellpsoid headlights. The 9006 bulbs are for the stock US spec headlights.

CashmoneyM3 09-21-2002, 05:05 PM I am defintely interested. So this is a Phillips kit including the bulbs? What happens after a year and the warranty is up and a bulb goes out? How much are replacement bulbs? Are these direct plug and play with the Euro Ellipsoids?
blackbmw95 09-21-2002, 07:24 PM I believe the bulbs is a plug and play for the ellipsoid. I will have to ask Hamman98 who recently purchase from me and try to get him to get some pictures of the installtion. Most likely if the bulbs last for a year will end up lasting for a long time.
CashmoneyM3 09-23-2002, 02:22 AM Just curious, what do u do if a bulb burns out can you buy replacement phillips bulbs?
blackbmw95 09-23-2002, 03:38 AM Just curious, what do u do if a bulb burns out can you buy replacement phillips bulbs?
Yes, of course but I doubt the bulbs will burn out.
caball 09-25-2002, 02:57 PM Are the bulbs from philips as well. you can' tell from the pictures they look like japanese bulbs.
blackbmw95 09-25-2002, 09:08 PM It depend what color output you want...Blues are made by phillips and purple are made by a Japanese Xenon company.
scottycs 09-26-2002, 09:39 AM Ive had both. Phillips 6k and noname 6k. Pillips are white with slight tint of purple. NoName 6k, very very blue.

caball 09-26-2002, 11:59 AM yeah that's what i figured, from all the pictures i have seen the philips are slight purple hue. i really want to order a set but the information is a little unsettling. 470 is a good price for 6000k kit. but if its not philips bulbs(purple output) then i rather pay more from online company.
PS not trying to start trouble with you blackbmw95 but it just worries me if i buy this and its not what i wanted.
scottycs 09-26-2002, 12:18 PM For that price, Im 99% sure that these are not phillips bulbs, just ballast. If he is selling blue ones I assure you these are no phillips.
caball 09-26-2002, 01:40 PM thanks for the heads up scottycs, i was gonna get the kit from spp, are theirs philips it does say ultinon bulbs on the site and the color looks purple to me.
TRD43 09-26-2002, 02:41 PM Check out www.XenonDepot.com
I purchased a 9006 6000k Ultinon kit from them. The bulbs came with custom moulded bases that literally plugged directly into my headlights with no modifications.
The kit came with Philips Bulbs (Ultinon) and ballasts.
Contact Steve at info@xenondepot.com and inquire about group buy pricing. Tell him that Terry with the M roadster referred you!

Lee Sung 09-26-2002, 03:39 PM I have 5 more days to order this....I want to know what the hell is going on: Are those bulbs really made by philips?
blackbmw95 09-26-2002, 04:00 PM The information was swap around. The Xenon are blue and the purple output are phillips.
Jared 09-26-2002, 04:17 PM So, say I wanted to get in on this. I asked for an H1 kit with purple bulbs. I would pay $484 over paypal to have it shipped, and its a complete plug-n-play kit with ALL philips parts. Is this correct? Not trying to be a pain in the ass, just want to get all the facts straight.
blackbmw95 09-27-2002, 12:45 AM Yes, It is right. For the plug and play, I'm not sure about ellipsoid. Ellipsoid may need some modification.
Hamann98 09-27-2002, 12:48 AM Hey everyone,
I just got a set from BlackBMW95. The bulbs are phillip made. To clarify, it has no tint on the bulb. It is a clear bulb that gives a purplish output. I made sure that BlackBMW95 called his distributor to make sure it was both phillips ballast and bulbs. I will post up pics soon.
Mike
Edit: Oh yea BTW I haven't installed them yet so I don't know if they are plug and play.
scottycs 09-27-2002, 01:23 AM Having a tint on the bulb meas nothing, bulbs with tints just means they are 5k. Also all 6k bulbs are clear. Many claim phillips bulbs but are not. Please post pics. How do you know it has a purplish output if they are not installed?

tkim3 09-27-2002, 09:50 AM Let's say I buy a HID kit but don't like the light output of a particular bulb - is switching bulbs just a straight forward swap? For example - I get 6000k bulbs but think it's too purple, can I just buy 4300k or 5000k bulbs and plug away?
scottycs 09-27-2002, 09:58 AM Yes, but they bulbs will set you back a pretty penny.
