BimmerBoyZ3 12-30-2005, 11:02 AM Well, its that time again to round up the bimmers, light up the grill, and grub out. PJ has graciously offered up his place for the location, and I, back due to popular demand, will be manning the grill. So, here are the details:

Menu: The meat will be decided upon once we all arrive.
Bring $7 to pitch in, and any other drinks/snacks you want. Alcohol is allowed, just remember, you gotta get your ass home somehow, so be safe. We may ride out to Harbison afterwards, or play Enthusia/GT4, so bring your memory cards.

1-1.5 hours depending on your driving style. And tell ///MDex to come too, I want a ride in the S/C Penis Mobile! :buttrock
gooten1 01-01-2006, 03:08 PM Yeah, bring down those Charlotte folks! It's not that bad of a drive.
gooten1 01-01-2006, 03:11 PM PJ, parking isn't a big problem is it? Will your neighbors be cool with us parking in the street? I'm gonna invite another M3 guy, I'll let you know details.
8ball 01-01-2006, 07:05 PM I'll be there if I get some directions, and what??? Ya'll aint got no Xbox's so I can whoop up on ya in Forza?

There is a school about 2 seconds from PJs house, so we can put cars there if there is a lack of parking. The is PJs driveway, the street, the neighbors driveway across the street (maybe). So we will figure it out.
I'll be there if I get some directions, and what??? Ya'll aint got no Xbox's so I can whoop up on ya in Forza?
PM Me or PJ for directions. And we have an ongoing battle with GT4. Once its resolved, we can look to other battlefields. Im waiting till summer when I can drag you all to a game of paintball. :devillook
8ball 01-02-2006, 12:12 AM Ohhh paintball, sweet. I got a gun that needs an inline regulator, maybe you can help. As for GT4 I've played 3 a bit so I think I can be competitive in the exact same car against ppl. I'll PM you for directions.

What kind of gun? I'll be happy to work on it.
Ive gotta clean mine really good and then my bushmaster needs a new circuit board.
BTW. EVERYONE PLEASE REMEMBER. IF YOU HAVE NO MONEY, YOU GET NO FOOD!
8ball 01-02-2006, 03:02 PM It's a Dragun "The One" gun. The first time I put CO2 on it and tested it I fired a few balls thru it and obviously froze the regulator so now when I pressurize it it blows out all the gaskets. From what I read it's a wierd thread pattern also. Unfortunately I put a whole bunch of money into it to only test fire it once and it broke. I'd love to actually get it working again.

First rule...CO2 sucks. Shoot nitrogen. It heats up when compressed and will never freeze your gun. If you want, I can meet up and take a look at the gun, or you can bring it to the meet. I need to get my tanks refilled so I can test fire the guns, but its no problem.
I'd really like to get back into PB if I had someone to go play with. Its more fun playing with someone you know as you can coop together on the fields.
IM me on AIM at XvSlim if you wanna talk this over more or just shoot the shit. Work is slow, I have nothing better to do than surf and chat. :stickoutt
RedRum77 01-02-2006, 04:40 PM What da deal Columbia Bimmers?!! Put me down for da grillin. I'm also gonna see if Maurio can show up with his M3. Looks like we might have a huge turn out if those NC M3s make it! Can't wait.

Mangaflows are about the loudest you can get. So long trips it can get kinda old to a lot of people, especially passengers.
Supersprint is a quiet exhaust. It only makes slightly more noise than OEM on WOT.
Eisenmann is the way to go. Ive heard a few and love it and it is what will be going on the Z.
Here are some clips:
Video 1 - Race Exhaust Flyby (http://www.eisenhaus.com/install/e36_e6[1].avi)
Video 2 - Race Exhaust (http://www.eisenhaus.com/install/E36M3DTM.wmv)

Video 4 - Race Exhaust Takeoff (http://www.eisenhaus.com/install/e36_e4[2].avi)
Its super sexy, and their exhaust are top notch. They make exhaust for Lambo, Ferrari, Jag, Maseratti, Porsche, and more. They know there stuff.
Eurosport Design has the 2x76mm Tip Racing Exhaust for the M3 for 739.00

Thats my vote, all day long.
Graham325 01-04-2006, 03:22 PM Glasspacks for the win
PJ325i 01-04-2006, 03:32 PM Glasspacks . . . Maybe for the V8 ;)
Eisenmann sounds sexy . . .but $739 is not . . .:) I'm a poor college student remember . . . That $700+ could go into a secret motor I'm working on ;)
Unless you are donating. . . . .
:lol
I may have to invest in a welder and perform surgery on the OEM exhaust . . . .I'm gonna need to learn anyway to fab some stuff for the E36 325is and the secret motor.
RedRum77 01-04-2006, 07:26 PM The Borla make me happy. It sounds great inside my car and out. People say they can tell when i'm coming up the street. Doesn't sound like a riced-out civic, sounds like a real car. If my passengers don't like my sound, #*ck 'em. They shoulda taken a ride in the civic.
gooten1 01-05-2006, 01:55 AM Actually, I've never heard my exhaust under load from anywhere but the drivers seat, so I have no idea how it sounds outside the car. I mean, it sounds great going under bridges and through tunnels, and it's most definately louder that stock. However, I'm missing two of your cylinders, so I don't know what kind of difference those would make to the exhaust note.

I am sure one of us would volenteer to pull some donuts in it so you could hear it from a distance, cause you know you would want to hear it under load, not just cruising by:devillook shall we draw straws???

Ive seen eisenmann exhaust up close, they have SUPERB build quality. The price is right around the cost of supersprint and other high quality exhaust companies.
Glasspacks are not going on the V8. We are gonna run straight pipes off of it with dual side exits.
RedRum77 01-05-2006, 12:02 PM Dustin, add Maurio(///M3) and Brent(3 series) might come also.

Weren't you the one just talking about loud exhaust and passengers. . .
I think dual sides would be cool :devillook
I was looking at the current heat shielding used and I think we can fab up something close to it for the dual sides :D

Thats for a DD car. This will be your weekend fun/track car, so its okay.
As far as heat sheilding, I had another idea. It will be a DTM car style sideskirt where the back section is inward toward the exhaust. I will have to get your some pics, its hard to explain.
PJ325i 01-05-2006, 01:18 PM Trust. . . I WILL drive that as a DD :D . . . and you know I would. . . .
I think I know that you are talking about . . . we can shoot flames out the side skirts . . .
I'm looking at a way to re-route the fuel and brake lines that run down the driver's side of the car. Erik just moved his to the other side of the frame rail . . . . I won't be able to do that since we are looking at doing side exhaust. . . .but we might be able to run it down the trans tunnel . . . .hmmmm

Fuel cell inside the car and run the lines internally for fuel. Or cut a hole and run the lines internally from the stock tank. Brake lines should be able to go down the tunnel.

Well in order to get the side exhaust to work, your back seat is gonna be damn near useless. So I figured if it came to it, back seat area would be decent for a fuel cell. If not, you can run the lines from there, its no big deal. 2 seats are plenty, trust me.:redspot
PJ325i 01-05-2006, 03:05 PM You and your obsession to lighten a car. . . .
Spare. . . what spare. . . .
:lol
We could do it like Ford did the 1999 Cobra R . . . :devillook
Is that what you are thinking?
Edit: You know this thred is supposed to be about the Grill and chill . . . I'll start another thread for this one.

Graham325 01-05-2006, 06:07 PM dont run fuel or brake lines near the tranny, that leads to bad bad things
BimmerBoyZ3 01-05-2006, 06:11 PM dont run fuel or brake lines near the tranny, that leads to bad bad things
Rubber lines yes....braided lines, its not a big deal, just make sure they are attached and secure.
Graham325 01-05-2006, 06:28 PM until that big secret engine grenades a clutch, or overheats the tranny
BimmerBoyZ3 01-05-2006, 06:47 PM until that big secret engine grenades a clutch, or overheats the tranny
Thats why you build things right the first time. Its not hard to overcompensate and get a clutch rated for more TQ than you make and properly maintain and build your tranny. Besides...the BMW trannies are well built enough for any amount of power PJ wants. Ive only heard of failure of a tranny from power at around 1000 rwhp. I dont think PJ is aiming THAT high.
PJ325i 01-05-2006, 07:15 PM Well . . . . :lol
No not that high . . .
It will be probably around 300rwhp/300rwtq in NA form . . . about 550rwhp after FI :devillook
Majority of the fuel and brake lines will be hard linesthat pass beneath anyway.
I do agree that we have to isolate it from heat . . . .that won't be too hard since we will be fabbing a heat shield.
Good looking out though ;)
gooten1 01-05-2006, 10:55 PM Right, dinner...so we're grilling out? ;)
