I think we recently had a thread about dealers in San Diego so I figured that I would share this story about how awesome BMW of SD has treated me.
In a nutshell, ever since I took delivery of my new touring wagon from Irvine BMW I've been having issues with my 16:9 screen/headunit. These were problems that were present during the test drive and I was assured by the sales person and service person that they would fix the problem. Well after TWO trips back up to Irvine the only thing they were able to do was give me the "runaround" leaving me the feeling that I might be S.O.L.
Okaaay, so since I'm sick of driving up to Irvine I decide to bring the car to BMW of SD and tell them the saga. The SA reminds me that the headunit is not covered under CPO and tells me that they need to charge a $110 diagnostic fee. Fine, no big deal since my goal is to just have them verify that the headunit is fux0red so that I can throw it back in Irvine BMW's face.
A day passes and I get the call from BMW of SD. The SA tells me that they're ordering me a new H/U to the tune of $2,600 at no expense to me. The dealer is paying half, and BMW NA is taking care of the other half. No need to get Irvine BMW involved, just an act of good faith since I'll be their service customer from here on out. Hell yeah I'm giving them all 5's on the customer feedback survey and I'm probably going to send the SA a Best Buy giftcard just for the hookup.
And thats it. Thanks for listening.
San Diego for the win. :cool
