Hey,

I know some of us have had horrible experiences with dealers while others have had great ones. We usually make a thread here and their ranting, but it's usually not kept in one place for people to search for.

I found this site in the X5 forum and though I'd share it with you everyone: http://www.dealerrater.com/ I've already rated a few dealers I've been to.

You can rate your dealer and have your comments read by anyone who visits the site. Upon browsing for BMW dealerships in my area, I think I've found one I'd be willing to give a try (36 miles away though) :D

i've used that website, it's not as helpful as I would have liked though. I find that there is better information here as far as dealer ratings.

i used to go to Rallye, but then the service department was completely turned over and now it sucks. I still trust the guy that sold me my car, George Kanes over there, but no one else.

I live not far from there. Must be one of the biggest snob stealers on LI.

Where do you go now?

I just brought my car to "Little Garage" in huntington (they also have a shop in LIC). They took me after calling yesterday to do an oil change and brake pads/rots today on my car, but they weren't very personable.

I'll let you know what I think of their work; if they do a good job, then I will be taking my car there for the suspension work my dad was getting me for christmas.

I heard decent things about them. Some of my friends go there.

my dad's been going to outlaw motorsports for our suburban for the past few years. They did a complete engine swap on it and have done other major work on that car to make it a great tow vehicle.

Chris (the owner) just moved his shop to Ronkonkoma from huntington, and he doesn't have his lift even set up to take car of my car.

Plus the little garage, is only about 10 or so minutes from where I work in Melville, which is even better.

I took my car to Motor Works West in Wyckoff, NJ. Small shop, does bimmers exclusively. Nice people. They even pick people up at the train or bus if they're coming from the city. Great work, too, at lower than dealer prices.

I don't think anyone can stay in business if they charge the same or more than stealer prices:)
