I did a real stupid thing just now, and I need your e39'ers help. I just took out my battery out of my trunk and then (without thinking twice) closed the trunk! How do I get it open again to put in the new battery.:help :help :help :help

turn to the section in your owners manual about the trunk...all you have to do is insert the key and turn it (probably counter clockwise...past the detent) and it should open. BUT check your owners manual for the correct direction to turn the key.

BTW, if your doors are locked...the same thing applies to the driver's door lock...just insert your key (the old fashioned way) and turn to unlock it "manually". :D

EDIT: forget looking it up in your owner's manual...see the last section in the pic below...you can see in the illustration...the various positions for the trunk's lock...insert your key and turn it to the position for manual unlock.

If you posted a bunch of pics about the central locking system...then yes...I'm GUILTY as charged!! :D
