If you know anything about tickets in Dallas county... help me out please! I received a ticket for 30 over back in September. I went to court to request deferred, and was given 60 days to pay a $240 fine and 90 days to take defensive driving. I didn't pay attention and missed the date to pay the fine, called the court and they said I blew it all and should just appear for my April 21st court date listed on my paperwork. I said okie dokie. My bad.

I'm now afraid of the courts' lack of organization and am paranoid about having a warrant out for having this unpaid ticket. I called the city's automated line today and entered my case number just to see what it would tell me, and it said "your citation has been dismissed". So... is it really dismissed? Or is it sitting in dismissed status because they think I did what I was supposed to do and once they catch up on paperwork and find out I didn't do my end of the deal I'll be screwed? I just got a live person on the phone and she looked it up and said "they dismissed it"... now, the question is... do I trust the $6.00/hr worker at the courthouse? I am scared.

I'd ask them to fax you a letter stating that it's been dismissed, or something in writing. Hell, go down and ask them for a printout.

I am going to call tomorrow and have them fax me the thing that says it was dismissed, that's a good call. If I have to run up there I will, I work like 5 blocks away.

I was told I could deferre by one lady and when I came back to pay another lady said since I was under the age of 25, I have to take DD to get it deferred. WTF. What's the point of saying it's deferred when it's really not? So I get the 90 days probation for no extra charge. arlingtoncourtowned :mad
