After 230K on my old bimmer I have finally upgraded to a 1996 328is. A very fun and spunky ride :D.
I am far past the point where you can see Lincoln's forehead :nono, and need to get new tires. Original tires are 205/60-15 Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus. I am looking for tires for optimal handling and low noise level. Any recommendations? I am not planning on changing rim size.
Happy Labor day.
Congrats and welcome to BF.C! Sorry I don't have any opinions to help. :)
others should be able to step in. . .

Leadfoot, I think the Bridgestone Pole Position S03's are popular on this board. I just put a set on my 328 and so far so good. I haven't noticed any road noise, but then again, I always have my music crankin'. =)

i plan to go with Bridgestone SO3's once my P7000 (which suck) are done with. u can drive em in the rain but also really good performance. Well that is my understanding.

Thanks! I love Estoril, too.

I hear Nitto are pretty good but the S03s are definitely the tire of choice. There is a price difference between the two but the S03s are well worth the $$$.

Pirelli P7000's are the tires i have right now. they r all season lots of road noise and they r terrible at the autoX.

I'm running Michellin Pilot Sports 225/50/16
They stick really really well.. ran about $190/tire.. but they look thin compared to the stock Contisports because the tread that comes into contact with the ground (which makes the tires noticeable).. seems to be less.. if that makes any sense.. plus I think 50's is a little too high.. next time I'd probably go with 45's..

www.tirerack.com has ratings / reviews / test results on many of their tires - including road noise and road comfort levels. You may want to check it out.
Also, Yoko has a new dB tire out - good performance with very quiet manners.
