i installed my stereo last night/this morning, pretty typical, used metra harness, ran wires down teh center, ran power and ground in the trunk.

My ABS light is staying on now.

No, i didn't remove the seats.

Any ideas? i ma taking a road trip in about 6 hrs..shite

the same thing happened to me when I changed my fogs, I don't know if it would work with the stereo problem, but it wouldn't hurt to try...I started my car while some of the wires were disconnected so I think that's what caused it...I just disconnected the battery for a couple of hours and when I connected it and turned the car back on...light was gone...hope this helps..good luck

You probably disconnected a wire for the airbag or something which threw and error in the computer. Normally you need a BMW computer to reset that fault code, but try the battery thing, it may work.

tried the batt hing, i am leaving for cali today, in about 2 hrs, so no more time, i guess no abs.. maybe i will hit a bimmer dealership there..

i don't have any idea where i may have dinsconnected teh wire for abs,

under teh dash, middle console area, rear seats, trunk?

anyone know if there is an abs wire in any of tehse areas,

Well maybe this will help console you a bit... I read an article a while ago that said a good drive can stop faster without ABS if they know how to brake properly. That's why they don't use ABS on race cars... plus it saves weight.
