I work at Cunningham BMW in El Cajon, and today one of Steve Dinan's buddies came in to show us the supercharged e46 M3. Complete DINAN package, brakes, suspension, etc, 3.91 diff and non intercooled supercharger. The guy is a professional racecar driver and took me and my coworker on a quick test drive....

Ok, we do a sliding burnout as were leaving the dealership and take it to 80+mph on EL Cajon BLVD (city streets @ 80, omfg) anyway we bust a U-turn and do another sliding burnout. We are approaching traffic to get onto the highway at about 100mph when he taps the brakes and the freakin car stopped on a dime. We casualy roll up to the stoplight to merge onto I-8N. Once the car moves infront of us, all he does is go WOT and before I knew it were doing 120+mph up the 8. He leaves it in 4th all the way and take the first exit. We cross the bridge and get back onto I-8 South. Were doing 100mph before we hit the highway and take it all the way back to EL Cajon BLVD. Keep in mind were still doing 100mph. As were coming into EL Cajon and this is where I fianlly get scared. (If you go to EL Cajon often, ya were doing 100 at the off ramp onto EL Cajon BLvd) Once again he just taps the brakes and this M3 comes to a hault. No panicing, no stressing. This guy was solid with the car and brought me and my worker back safely. He exchanged hand shakes and talked to everyone. We had the biggest smile on our faces all morning.

As far as the review goes, the car layed down 423hp and we experianced every bit of it. The M3 DINAN package (quoted @ 40,000$ installed for everything) is quite a step for the amount of performance you get. If I had the money I just might get one. But for BMW and DINAN, this car is fucking sick.

Wow. So for the price of a CSL M3, you get something that can bear a CSL M3, and support US economy. Wow. Double Wow.

:rolleyes For 40k + an M3 you could buy a 996 GT3. Lol @ 40k.

They now have an intercooled version that should be even more fun and expensive.....

almost $100k for an m3? I'd just be unpractical and get a pristine Countach....completely unrelated, but definitely one of my favorite supercars :D

lol, but if you drove it for more than like 25 miles at a time your foot would be so tired from the clutch

i got to drive this car it is amazing. it handles well.

the entire package will only cost you about 19k.

the supercahrger got reduced to 9,995.. then theres 1799 for the exhaust and 1199 for the throttle bodies, both of which are required at

so for about 13,000 you get the entire kit. then you throw on sales tax and about 5k worth of labor..

19k..

but then again Steve Dinans S3 has dinan/brembo brakes and rims which are easily worth about 10k..plus the suspension, which is probably another 3-4 thousand bucks... so if you want the identical car you would be looking at 30-35k.

but if you want just the power, you can do it for <20k... i am good friends with izzy who is the dinan sales rep for the west coast (he drives this S3 Dinan M3 along the west coast to show it at dealerships to potential customers) and he will let you drive the car if you are serious and consdering the S/C. ive driven this car about 5 times now and it is very very strong.

the S/C install was clean and never had a problem while driving it.

and btw, you CAN run the charger on your stock rims/tires, as with 19"s, the rear tires of 255/35/19 CAN hold the 423HP.
