RhInO328i 01-25-2006, 03:38 AM Looks great. How's the sound? Is the filter cleanable?
Sound is great. Growls down low - softens up a bit through the midrange and then BAM ROARS IT'S HEAD OFF above 5.5.
Much much much louder than stock airbox. Obviously ;)

Thanks Chris. What type of filter is this, is it interchangeable with a K&N, and is it as good as K&N?

How's the performance? Did you notice any performance increases/decreases?
RhInO328i 01-25-2006, 08:05 AM Thanks Chris. What type of filter is this, is it interchangeable with a K&N, and is it as good as K&N?
How's the performance? Did you notice any performance increases/decreases?
Filter is made by Simota (http://www.simota.com/), according to their website they perform better than K&N. Then again I've heard that K&N let in anything except lil kids on bikes as you drive past. Haven't done any research to back that up but and was going to buy a K&N up until I saw this one.
Performance wise - it seems a bit more responsive and it might have gained a few kw's. Could just be that it's louder. I'm thinking I might throw it on a dyno and compare with stock.

EEEEeeee36 02-05-2006, 04:24 AM Hey guys, big props for this vendor. His products are fantastic as I've bought two things from him already (and will continue to do so).
Chris, is this a 3" or 3.5" pipe? Can you put on a different filter if you wanted to?
I only ask because Wix and Amsoil just started making a cone filter called "Ea" which is superb (allthough that Simota filter looks good too).
Oh, and PM me price for an E36 M52, thanks!

Can someone please answer if this is a 3.5" system or a 3" system? Some of us may be running/will be running a Euro/5er HFM, thanks!
m34ever 02-06-2006, 03:27 AM any chance it would fit a 98 m roadster?
EEEEeeee36 02-06-2006, 06:18 AM any chance it would fit a 98 m roadster?
I'm pretty sure it would... while I was doing my M50 manifold swap I did some research and the intakes connect up to the HFM exactly the same... the only issue you might have is how close the CF 'bell' gets to the left of your kidney grills. I could measure from my TB to the front of my engine bay to see if you have about the same amount of room... :dunno

Very nice pictures, thank you! Do you have Ellipsoid headlamps? Curious if there was any 'room' issues. Also, still trying to find out if this is a 3.5" system or not... :( TIA

the city next door
*thumbs up to service thus far...Only worry is that it's not the right intake but
I highly doubt it

This guy shipped 50 M3 mirrors during our Group Buy - that is 50 5-0...I dont' think a single one took more than 4 days to receive from the time they paid. He's INCREDIBLE!!
On top of that a couple of the guys received goods damaged by the shipper. Did they have to send them back first? NO!! He shipped them a new product immediately at his cost and just had them send them back when they got the new ones (or not send anything back at all). As far as businessmen, vendors, and eBayers he is the Cadillac of sellers... the top Eschelon... the Nordstrom's of the online biz. ;)
m34ever 02-14-2006, 02:37 AM got mine and installed it today! excellent product and great seller. Took me some custom work to get it installed but I managed. Sounds mean as hell at higher RPM.
Tbone325 02-14-2006, 03:24 AM Chris, Do you have any more "E46 wide Style" black grills for 92-96 E36?

I measured mine yesterday and it's a 3" - as far as I can tell.
Hopefully you can get a 3.5" one as it is an awesome intake.
