I have a question. I had my windows tinted today, but the person tinting them forgot that the window came down 1/8th inch when I open the door, so when I close the door, there is a 1/8th inch gap at the bottom of the tint. Does anyonw know how to get the window to stay up all the way when you open your door? I've heard that I can just take the door panel off and he can tint farther down that way. Is there any way to just fool the car to thinking that the door is closed and have the window remain all the way up?

The guy that did mine did it with the door closed then dried it with dryer, then opened the door to finish. Did an OUTSTANDING job.

Open the door and lock the latch using a screw driver or your finger all the way in, this will move the window up. After you are done pull the door handle to unlock and bring the window down before closing the door. Don't close the door after you lock the latch manually as this may break the glass.

We tried this and it did not work. Both with the car on and with it off.

Removing the fuse did the trick. Thanks for the help.

What the hell is the point of that annoying feature (the window going down). I had my battery unplugged and I seemed to still be able to open the doors (although it looked like the windows hit a little).

Do the windows have a little juice to roll down after the battery is unplugged?

No it just puts pressure on the door seals up top.

The function of that feature is to stop leaking when raining, high pressure washers, less wind noise. It lodges the window inside the door.

Works for my '02. You have to lock it all the way in, not just the first safety lock. When you push the latch it will click ones, then keep pushing it more till it clicks second time. Then the latch activates the motor to roll up that 1/4 to seal the window. It doesn't matter if the car is on or not.
