I'm having trouble getting the car into 2nd gear quickly without getting a lot of reistance in the gate. I can move it to the gate and wait for it to catch and then its quiet but it takes a little too long and then my rpms fall below where they should be in 2nd gear for the speed I'm traveling which makes for a less smooth shift than if you catch them on the way down. I can sort of force it in faster but it doesn't sound so great or like the car wants it. I wouldn't exactly say grinding but just rather a very noisy shift with too much resistance. Maybe it could be a little grinding but I'm not sure. Basically, I can't move it to second in one continous motion. I feel like i have to granny shift it a little bit. I never had this problem in a car before but i also never had such a high performance car. Does it maybe have to do with higher gear ratios or something and that the synchros take longer to spin up in a higher performance car than with a lower HP one or does this just mean i have bad synchros? I say this because I was driving a 100hp renault in germany not to long after i got my car and noticed that i can definitely shift faster in the renault than in may car without a problem. 3rd gear in my car does it a somewhat but not as bad as second. Basically it gets less of a problem as you go up in gears. When i downshift to first if im still rolling a little bit i can actually lightly hear and wait for the synchro spin up. I would expect this somewhat while downshifting into first but i never had to wait for second gear to catch before in any other car. Any ideas what the deal is.
