Thanks a lot onutsguy 12-17-2005, 11:11 PM Buyer be very aware of what you are buying from them. I would never buy from them with out a VERY thorough inspection from a well qualified body and engine shop. . I almost bought an M5 from them earlier this year, but after talking to a number of members from the BMWCCA forums, as well as the local BMW forums, I decided to steer clear of them, even though the price was great. They've been caught several times selling wrecked and previously smashed cars that have been repaired. Even a few with total flood damage.... Check the Illinios State Consumer Rating report on them. . I know their prices are usually very good, that's what attracted me too. Just make very sure you have the car thoroughly checked over, inside and out. Get the CarFax and any other report you can get your hands on regarding your new car. Also, have a BMW dealership run the VIN and give you a read out of all the work that's ever been done to the car. It might cost a few bucks, but might save you a fortune down the road. :shifty . Probably not what you were hoping to hear. :( I was all set to make my purchase, just like you, and finding out the truth kind of wrecked my day. If you do a deep searching of the forums and BMWCCA website, you'll find the same info I did.... Good luck to you either way, Scott balis///M 12-18-2005, 12:00 AM Thanks Scott very useful information as after using the search button and seeing the reports on these guys kind of got me weary. Thanks guys balis///M 12-20-2005, 03:27 AM geez thanks. I made a verbal agreement to buy an M3 from them....Bought airline tickets......Hit the search button and saw a couple of disturbing things......cancelled my tickets. Thanks Guys yaajer 12-20-2005, 11:09 AM Last year I was going to buy a 2001 330ci Green with every option (including Nav) from Luxury Motors, but I'm so glad I didn't. Here's my story: Saw it on Thursday and drove down Saturday morning to look at it. I called them Friday to ask if it was still there, and they said yes, come down it's still here. Anyways, after driving 2 hours, we get there and a real greasy salesman tells me the car was sold yesterday on Friday. He then tells me, I've got one in stock similar to it and brings out this f-uped nasty 2000 328ci. Not only is it ugly (lots of scratches, leather tearing, etc) but it was priced 4k more than the car I saw on their website. Well, I ended up not buying the car (the whole time they are trying to pressure for a test drive, and pushing for the sale). About 4 weeks later, I check out their website, and the Green 330ci is back up on the "in stock". This made me wonder and I did some research on these scammers. Most people have the same story: Looking at one car, they get down there and its already been sold and pressured to buy a different car at a higher price. Some folks have had issued with slow payoff of their trade in and some folks have had issues trying to get their title from these idiots. Some people have had their cars come up as salvaged later on. Some of these cars are from Europe and Canada which means the warranty is void. Some people find out that they are missing necessary tools that come with a the car, or that they have no flat tire spare, or that things just break on them after receiving the car, and having to fist fight Luxury Motors to get them to do anything...if they even take your call. These guys are bad news...STAY AWAY! Not worth the extra 1k or 2k. EnzoXYZ 12-20-2005, 11:16 PM I hear so many bad stories with LM. IStock 12-21-2005, 12:20 AM I am relatively local as well and cannot offer any good news, everything above is a repeat of what I have heard and actually experienced first hand. Mike MBENZF1 12-27-2005, 05:03 PM phew, that god i didn't buy my car from them, they had a 2k2 Z3 for way cheaper then anyone else, my uncle lives in teh windy city so i had him check it out, it was sold b4 he got there ... lucky i just went to Bavarian BMW here in Detroit and can't be happier |
