title says it all.

for those that have used them, hows the grip level? ability to handle heat? (imagine a 100* day, on a tracks thats usually hard on tires, lots of long fast sweeping turns)

I need new tires, i was thinking about the new Azeni 615, but the general feeling is that they still get greasy, and i want an R-Comp, i'm tired of street tires falling off like they do.

then i thought about running the A032R Hard compound. i've heard they are about as streetable as an Azeni (they'll get driven on the street for a few months), yet dont get overheated.

anyone think my logic is flawed?

I wouldn't buy that tire for dual duty. It has no tread, so if it rains your hosed. I have liked them, but they don't hold up as well as RA1s. As far as the limit heat wise, I found they like high pressures, but once they were too high, they got pretty slippery. If I drove a little easier on the brakes, they would come back.

so you actually think i'd be ok using an ra1 as a dual duty tire? or am i just being an idiot thinking this is actually going to work? <- even now i'm leaning towards that.

as far as the rain comment, i live in southern california. rain isnt even really a consideration after january until next november or december.

thanks,

I ran a used set a few years ago. I thought they did fine for a DE tire. More grip than a street tire, holds heat better and had good wear.

I think they would suit your needs well. Although, I think you could use the RA1 as well, which is a better tire.

Biggest downside is their price IMO. Fairly expensive for what you get.

No comparison to the RA-1 for dual purpose in my opinion, I would pick the RA-1 anyday. Neither one will last much more than 8-10k miles, but the A032-R's don't grip as well on the track, and sound like a mix between a helicopter and a mud bogging truck tire on the street. I used them on a nearly unmuffled 3rd gen Rx-7 and I could still hear the tires over the exhaust

I have actually used both the 032s and Toyo RA1s as "dual service" tires and agree with all the above statements. The Toyos are quieter on the street and perform better on the track. "Heat cycle" them on the street a few times before taking to the track and they will wear better.
Hope that helps,
Tom

thats actually comforting to hear.

i was expecting a lot less than that. especially considering i got 10k out of my Kumho MX's. towards the end, they just seemed to melt when i was at the track.

If they're anything like the A032's I had about three years ago... don't.

They're mediocre in the wet, mediocre in the dry, and VERY LOUD on the street.

Maybe they've updated them since then, IDK.

I'm using Pirelli P-Zero Corsa DOT-R tires on the street. I absolutely love em, though I expect to only see about 6000 miles before they're bald.
