More racing in Texas next season... :redspot

We will be running the GTS Challenge Series in 2006. Interesting that you ask this question now. Jay just sold his race Corvette and was looking into getting a Porsche or BMW so we could start to grow this series in Texas. PERFECT TIMING :-) We will get the web site updated by this weekend and start to send our promotional e-mails regarding the series for 2006.

ALSO, GTS is recognized as a NASA National class, so based on participation in your local region, you can qualify to go to the NASA National Championships at Mid-Ohio.

I will be sending you more information on GTS and the Championships over the next few days. Please let me know what you need from me to help you spread the word.

We look forward to serving you and the GTS Challenge Competitors at our events.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

I ran in the new NASA Florida Region Endurance Series this year of had a great time. They do it right, trophies, champagne and actual podiums. All the officials are paid (not volunteers) and they are there to serve the racers. So far the politics and normal club BS has not been present. I plan to run the GTS Challenge as my primary series this year.

GTS racing is based on hp/wt ratio and a CM car would dominate in GTS. Look at it this way...my 'near' IP car and your CM could have the exact same hp/wt and GTS class. But because your car is lighter and certainly better prepared, you would be faster.

Go to the www.gtschallenge.com for the rules....I would guess a CM car is GTS4.

thanks, that would put me right a the top of GTS4 9.85 to 1. That could be alot of fun to run in a national class.

Or look at it this way...you can drop another 100lbs and still remain GTS4 or add 200lbs ballast and really kick some ass in GTS3.

Don't forget...the rules have changed this year. Now you take the whp and wtq, add it together and divide by 2. Divide your weight w/driver by that number. Last year my car was at the very limit for GTS3, now I can drop 180lbs ballast because of the new formula. This new formula should really help high strung motors that are down on torque.

I like it this way. I can eat whatever I want now. Finally a series that doesn't penalize the fat guy. Try racing a kart or a bike like that.
