On both heads, or just one?

The left bank. Possibly a DIY? Am mechanically competent, looks feasible according to my Bentley

It is pretty involved. If you follow the directions right, I suppose it would be ok. Just make sure to follow the torque settings EXACTLY.

I'm getting close to needing one myself... interested to see how much $ it is.

Been talking with my shop, they say DIY is possible if you're very comfortable w/ tools, but they don't advise it. I might have to bite the bullet on this one. Besides Bentley, any other resources out there covers this?

As long as you have the proper torque specs, they all should say pretty much the same thing.
1. Align to TCD for both head and block
2. pull head
3. swap gaskets
4. start tightening procedure.

It is involved, though, don't kid yourself. It is not as easy as on an older, SOHC motor.
