I don't know of a local mechanic, but you can always try Magnolia Nissan/BMW (I think it's Townsend BMW now, same owners) 205-345-9811

Also try this place, I know where it is but have never used them. They've been there forever and always seem to have a lot of cars there going in and out. Its next to a high end used car dealership that I would always go to, to check out cars. If think the owner once commented that he used them for all his pre-sale service. Could have been his business as well, not sure.

Send me the guys info and let him know I may contact him to inspect the apprearance and what not. I'm no mechanic but I can at least check leaks and drive it possibly. Let me know.

thanks for the info hatm3, the car is @ townsend bmw, it's a silver 2003 bmw 325i with 45,300 miles...it is a certified pre-owned bmw and is on the bmw website, but I'd like to get it checked out before I make a commitment. I guess its better to be on the safe side.

Ahh, I see. Being certified is definately a plus, I assume it comes with a 100,000 mile warranty?

yeah, but i just got the carfax report for the car, although it doesn't say there was flood damage to the car itself, the car was from an area declared a flood disaster area by FEMA in Mississippi. I'm not too sure now about that car. Yes, it does have the 100k mi. warranty.

Ahhh. Over the next few years a ton of flood cars are going to start showing up. It's amazing how quickly they can get flood cars back on the market. I'd try the European Auto Service place.
