View Full Version : monitorized double din touchscreen+dvd+radio (all in one) question

I have been looking all over the internet for those double din touchscreens with the full package (dvd player, nav, radio, etc). In simpler terms, these:

I have only found three that are name brand (Pioneer AVIC-D1, Kenwood DDX7017 and 7015) and the rest are from China/Taiwain.

My question is, are there any others out there, and which one should I get? It will be custom fitted into my E36, and I'm looking to put it where my radio and climate control is. I'd have to get some measurements first though...

The D1 by Pioneer is sweet...I have some experience with those. Its cool because it has a separate dvd-drive for navigation...

oh okay then you will just relocate the OBC to the glove box...
I was going to do a similar setup. keeping my Alpine deck but then moving the OBC to the glovebox. Then I was going to put a touch screen monitor where the OBC is.

I like your idea better.

no no, the obc will stay put, the climate control will be where the sunglass tray is right now. i'll need to make a new face plate for the climate control where it will flow right into the lower controls (alarm led, heat warmers, acs, etc.). someone did this and posted on the forums before, lemme try to dig it up for you.
