So I buy new plugs yesterday for the M3 and find I don't have an 18mm spark plug socket. I go to Sears and get one. I get home after a night out and try it. It's really tight and there is no way it'll fit without getting stuck. I search on S14 and it says to use the wrench in the toolkit. So this morning I do so and it works perfectly! Plugs swapped out in 5 minutes. :redspot

You're lucky that you had the factory tool.. most people (like myself) have it gone missing from the previous owner and the part is no longer available from BMW.

You can also use a snap on spark plug socket (narrow walled) that will fit.

Cramer I love your car.

What kind of a tool is this? Just a regular wrench or is there something special about it.

thanks :)

It looks like a regular spark plug tool, but designed to work in the S motors of the M3,5,6
