I am currently looking for my first car. Upon Searching i came upon this car.

1997 BMW 540i
109,000 Miles
Automatic Tranmission
V8 Engine
Exterior Color: Purple
Interior Color: Grey

Power seats, memory seats, premium sound system, power windows, power locks, power steering, cruise, tilt, sunroof, runs and drives perfect, key less entry

Asking Price: $8,990

My only fear is that becuase this is not being sold by a BMW dealership, it is being sold by a used car place.

The car is located in Downers Grove, IL. The name of the place selling it is called "Premeir Auto Auctions".

So what i am asking is:
Is that a car worth investing in?

I've never been to fond of used car places. I just don't trust that their cars are up to par or what they are neglecting to tell you. On the otherhand there are some reputable used car dealers. I would suggest checking midwest performance cars every once in awhile. Tom gets BMWs in every great while and his mechanic only services German cars. He makes sure the cars he sells are in good working condition. As of right now he doesn't have and bimmers but here is the site http://www.midwestperformancecars.com/

Regardless of what route you take ie used car dealer or private seller, I would bring a trusted mechanic friend or someone who is knowledgable about bimmers with. If not see if you can bring it to a shop to be inspected. Before I bought my car private party, I took it to Brown's Motor Works (Fred only services BMWs) and had it inspected and he was able to pretty much point out everything that was wrong or needed fixing. Good hunting! :buttrock

premier auto auctions is a very good place to buy cars. they have little markup on their cars and are willing to deal. I am good friends with the owner and i help him out whenever i can with anycars that he has there, he also takes care of me well too. they are great people. Im not saying to buy the car from them or to not buy the car from them. take a look at it, if you find something you dont like bring it up. take a mechanic with you, they can recomend you to a mechanic to to a Used car inspections. anyways they're great people and i would buy a car from them anyday. such a variety, bimmers, MB's, porshe, supras, vr4's, vipers, saleens stangs, bikes, even trucks very good people.

Beware! I have a feeling Premier Auto Auctions is ACTUALLY associated with Luxury Motors which is associated with Bently Downers Grove.

Stay away from this place!

Just do a search for Luxury Motors of Downers Grove.
