is it a good idea if i decide to go through ebay to buy my e46 m3? What do i have to pay attention to or look out for?

I know i can judge the seller for the most part based on their feedback history but is there any real protection from getting screwed out of money and the car? How was your experience buying through ebay as far as how the money transfer and car shipping went...Specially if im gonna use a lender to loan me half the amount.

Would like ot know the same thing as I might go through the same process.

I was going to do this and found a few cars that I was interested purchasing and watched and what the auctions were closing at and then just went to a local dealer with a check book and the printouts of the cars and their selling prices. The manager knew I had done my research and was ready to buy a car and asked me what I wanted to pay. I told him and bought the car that I wanted that day without having to hassle with shipping or wondering if the car on eBay was legit. I have actually purchased a car through eBay and in the end found that the car had issues that weren't disclosed. With that said I was ready to try again but instead went with the forementioned approach.
