The brake on my car is too sensitive, is there anyway to adjust it by allowing a bit more freeplay on the pedal?

I got this car from a private seller and I felt the braking is more sensitive than other stock m3 I've driven. According to him, he never touched the brake system. Basically the braking feel is very good and solid, however, not too comfortable for daily driving. The braking power is just too strong for a very light pedal action.

How can I adjust this?

I think this is the first I have ever heard somebody complain of brakes that are too sensitive. I guess if you wanted to dull them down some you could change to a less aggressive pad. :dunno:

The brakes on the e46 are overboosted in my opinion. You can install an adjusable valve in the brake booster line to vary the pedal effort if you want.

or you can just put some air in the lines or "upgrade" to honda brakes... :)

I wouldn't say less aggressive, just less initial bite...

I found this true about the stock pads also, and also that they dust a lot.

Axxis Ultimates are nice pads that dust a little less and have a more 'progressive' feel to them. Far less prone to fade also.

But you might want to just get used to it...
