View Full Version : 5 series wheels on E30 M3
qwickm3 12-01-2005, 11:25 PM I see a lot of E30 M3 with wheels that look to be e34 or e39 fitments. I know the offset on these work and it looks awesome on e30s but was does it take to make these work. I am assuming just a different hub centric ring since the bolt pattern and offset are right.
WhiteE30 12-01-2005, 11:39 PM i remember seeing a set of the 17" bbs style e39 rims on an e30 m3 on s14.net. it is an awsome look but i can't remember what it takes to make it work.
BingM3 12-01-2005, 11:50 PM I run 18's and my friend 17's Style 5's. No spacers on both cars. You will need to remove brake front clip if you have new rotors and pads, it will rub a bit.
If you want to keep clip and it rubs, then you may want to put minimal spacers.
Other than that, offset works:buttrock
E34M50 12-02-2005, 01:00 PM here's an example on my previous M3...i liked the way it looked...offset is perfect but i used spacers on front to be able to use the rattle clip...the spacers where hubcentric and converted my 72.6 bore to 74.1mm that these wheels were...they were customed made though...
///M318i/// 12-02-2005, 06:34 PM ^ the whole car looks amasing

i noticed how close those tires sit next to your front fender. does that thing rub when turning? i tried putting 18s Breyton Inspirations on my E30 M3 and that thing rubbed when i turned. its was 18x8.5 all around. the rears are fine but the front rubbed the wheel well....

17 x 8 M5 replicas on mine that I had on my E34 and E39. Those tires were too big, too. Staggered tires, 215/40 and 235/40 cause the fronts would rub.

e9nine 12-29-2005, 09:12 PM I have an non m3 car with e30m3 suspension and this is what I had to do for the following wheels
Style 32s 17x8/17x9 et 20/26
-- Machine anti-rattle clip
-- 10mm hubcentric spacers (A set of new Hawk pads and rotors caused contact)
-- Metal centering rings from tire rack
http://s122290185.onlinehome.us/shoooot%20056.jpg
Style 5s 17x8/17x9 et 20/22 (Pic in sig below)
-- Same Machined anti-rattle clip
-- Same spacers
-- No need for centering rings
PS: If you're in the market for any of those wheels and want to test fit, you're more than welcome to shoot me a PM since I am somewhat local to you.
PPS: The Style 32s are for sale if anyone is interested Click to see BFc classifieds ad (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=458640)
The Beastmaster 12-30-2005, 12:14 AM Why didn't you need hubrings for the Style 5s? If they were E39 wheels, they would require the rings.

They were from an e34
