i think he means
1st owner
2nd owner
?
killcrap 11-29-2005, 09:04 AM get the first one, it has really low miles on it. for $9500 thats a steal. just use the money he would of saved and sell the rims, and get some nice ones.
dagoo98 11-29-2005, 11:08 AM i think he means
1st owner
2nd owner
?
I thought he meant automatic and manual.
Ken21 11-29-2005, 11:20 AM I thought he meant automatic and manual.
hi...yes is 1st owner and 2nd owner
which one is better ??
and 122,000km = how many miles ???
i also told my friend that the first one is really a great deal....he can use those extra money to get some mods ......but he really worry about the 122,000km on the clock
killcrap 11-29-2005, 11:33 AM tell your friend, at 122,000 = 75,800 miles. its not bad at all for $9,500 at that milage the radiator and valve cover gaskets should have been done.
BimmerFreak 11-29-2005, 11:36 AM Go for the first one.
skateparks 11-29-2005, 11:37 AM I'd take the second one for sure!!
Ken21 11-29-2005, 11:51 AM tell your friend, at 122,000 = 75,800 miles. its not bad at all for $9,500 at that milage the radiator and valve cover gaskets should have been done.
the seller told me that anything parts that needs to be change has changed
Ken21 11-29-2005, 11:51 AM Go for the first one.
any reason ?? why ?
Ken21 11-29-2005, 11:52 AM  I'd take the second one for sure!!
why >?
I'd go for the 1st one:alright Like someone already said, sell the rims & but new ones!
liquidtiger720 11-29-2005, 01:01 PM Hmmm... I didnt even know they made the 540i in 96'
skateparks 11-29-2005, 01:06 PM
why >?
Lower mileage, only $4k more, a year newer, etc. Just my opinion... Lowest price is not always the best bargain.
Ken21 11-29-2005, 01:26 PM Hmmm... I didnt even know they made the 540i in 96'
yes...they did in europe......i know somw guy told me they even hv a 95 E39
Ken21 11-29-2005, 02:24 PM so looks like most of you will go for the first one instead of the second
Ken21 11-29-2005, 02:35 PM i'll choose the 540.
which one ?? both of them are 540ia
sorry, it was my attempt at some british humor.
i would take the.... 6 spd! lol..
i'll take the 96 since i'd never get year 1 of any car maker except for Toyota.
skateparks 11-29-2005, 03:01 PM i'll take the 96 since i'd never get year 1 of any car maker .
'96 was year 1, even of they did offer the e39 in '95 it was still a '96 MO... that's why i'd choose the '97
MP525i 11-29-2005, 03:11 PM i'd take the '97 too. but if i was in the market for a 540 i would want a newer '02-'03. if i didn't have the money and still wanted an e39 - go for a '98-'99. a little more expensive but worth it.
another option, look for a real clean e34 with the alusil engine. a few mods to an e34 and they turn heads.

ah... failed to see he's not in the states. then go for the cheapest one because it's all the same at the end of the day.
Ken21 11-29-2005, 04:11 PM a 00'up 540ia in HK should cost around $38k....
is 96 really not a good year for the E39 540ia ???since i had a 97 E39 540 myself....is 1 year really makes a big different ??:help
Dukes 11-29-2005, 04:16 PM a 00'up 540ia in HK should cost around $38k....

Yes it makes a difference!!! You need to get rid of that car right now and buy a 98-99!! What were you thinking when you bought that car???!!!
Just kidding. :D
Jazzbass 11-29-2005, 04:24 PM I'd choose the second. I wouldn't be at all happy with the high mileage on the first. I'd never buy a used car with more than 80,000km (50,000 miles) on the clock.
SpecRaceM5 11-29-2005, 05:25 PM I agree with skatparks The second one has a little over half the miles of the first and is only a few thousand more. I would go for that one if i could afford either.
sdwhitney 11-29-2005, 06:18 PM Is there a 3rd choice? If there is an M5 behind door #3, then get that one.
530ica 11-29-2005, 09:03 PM Get the newer with lower milleage and negotiate a better price than $14k 69k to 122k is quite the difference
sirtiger 11-29-2005, 09:26 PM isn't that a lot of miles for HK?
I'd definately go with the 2nd one. It will be cheaper for you in the long run. Try to negociate a lower price.
Ken21 11-30-2005, 12:44 AM thanks for all suggestion
will see if can get the price down a bit on the second one
and looks like is 50/50....some say go for the first and some for the second
eric77 11-30-2005, 01:25 AM second one! Lower miles is the win.
jusdrake1 11-30-2005, 02:11 AM Somebody wanna show me that they actually made e39's in 1996. Never heard of one.
Alin10123 11-30-2005, 02:16 AM I thought he meant automatic and manual.
They are both autos.
lol

U.S. gets everything late. Its just like the '99 M5 found in Europe.
