Yesterday unpluged the airbag to remove the steering wheel...
when pluged the airbag light turns on
Does someone know how i can reset or turn off the airbag light
I don't want to go to the dealer. :help

You'll need a scanner to cancel the fault memory.
If the ignition is turned on with any airbag component disconnected, a fault will be set.

even if the car is off, if you disconnect a srs component with the battery still connected, a fault will set. you will need to reset the light by going to a dealer or purchasing a scantool

No, the ignition has to be on to set an airbag fault.

i guess it was the case when i left the battery connected, and removed the passenger seat, and removed the harness. reconnected it, and there was a fault when i turned on the car. i read the codes and reset it. and everything was fine.

That is not true. killcrap is correct you do not have to turn the ignition on to throw a SRS fault.

I don't know what you guys are doing wrong. I've been working on BMW airbags since they were introduced, I think on the 1987 L7, and as long as I don't turn on the ignition with a component disconnected, there is no fault. It's no exaggeration to say I've done this hundreds of times.
