Sorry if this has been posted before but i thought it might help...(BTW did a search but it seemed like mostly e36 had this problem not e46, but maybe I'm a bad searcher--also could not find the advisory letter for it)

My car idled really badly right after startup Sat. morning and showed an immediates SES light. I checked things over real well but couldn't find anything wrong. I had it towed to Global. SA called this morning and told me they got several misfiring codes and replaced the BREMI coils with BOSCH. He said there was a recall for affected M3s but for some reason my production date or VIN was not listed. Either way I did have the bad coils and the new ones seem to have solved the problem (all under warranty). I'm picking it up Thursday so hopefully all will be well. If you have an E46 M3 you might want to look at your coils and verify you have Bosch ones.

This is a recall for 2002-2004 6,8 and 12-cyl. I got a letter last week from BMWNA.

Funny thing is I got no letter because my VIN/prod. date was not covered. Nevertheless, I had the bad BREMI coils. Advise people to check what they have.

I finally got her back from Global yesterday:redspot . Oh man, so glad my baby is back . And to really top it off there was a beautiful new black M5 there :buttrock . This is only my second such sighting, the other on Piedmont in Buckhead, also a black one. IMO it is MUCH better looking in person than the pictures. The brake discs are enormous--I mean you can make a coffee table out of 'em!

On the downside I'm bummed because my modding budget is so low
