Hi everyone, I want to change the gearbox fluid and the diff fluid in my car, but I want to change the fluids over to Royal Purple or Red Line synthtic stuff. Firstly, can I put anything in a BMW diff and gearbox? Or do they have a specific type of fluid? Will I fry something if I put some synthetic in there??

Secondly, does anyone have any good experiences with a particular brand of stainless exhaust system? I am in the market, and want something that will allow the engine to breath better and maaaaybe add 2-5 HP. I am mostly concerned with how she will sound. I want the car to sound good, but not be too loud. Anyone anyone?? Suggestions?

Royal purple is good for both, although a lot of people like the redline more. You can ask many guys on the 5-er forum and they like those two the best, althour Royal for autos and redline for manuals.

Secondly, with the exhaust, I really like my Supersprint. It makes the car have a nice rumble at idle and not drone when on the highway. Only problem is, it is not cheap.

I'll second the SuperSprint. Much better than the POS Tri-Flo I used to have (sounded great, but fell apart).

Unfotunately, they did not offer a manual 540 for the 94 model year. Also, mine may sound different than a system you get as I have a complete SuperSprint system, including headers, cats, everything. Let me know sometime you would like to hear it; I'll be free to do stuff after the 16th of December. (Finals and everything)
