Trying to get back to Denver from sunny OK.
Hope no one we know is stuck in this stuff, or is it not as bad as they let on in the news?
Anybody been east of Denver or west of Hays, KS on I-70?
Any road reports appreciated!

It is bad, 6 foot drifts and 4 dead so far. I'd stay put until they open the road.
I-70 closed from Denver to Russell, Ks. That's a big stretch.

How did we get spared all that snow?

The big blizzards often fizzle out jsut before reaching here. But, we will get some, but western Kansas ususally gets it worse.

When the crap weather hit yesterday, the other side of the low was over western KS. It dumped on them and gave us rain/hail. Its all about the freezing line, and we still had warm air flowing up from the south. They had cold air plummeting in from the north. For up to date roo-ad conditions check here...

No, Denver is missing it. It is a plains storm, mostly over now. Eastern Colorado, Western Kansas and Western Nebraska got the worst, some in the Dakotas.

Damn. All we get is some damn cold clear days. We have STILL not gotten any snow yet this year.

FYI - 99% of the time weather comes from you to us, so if were talking about it, its done with you.

I waited out the closings in Topeka. They opened the roads on Nov. 29, and today the roads were fine.
Thanks for the updates guys.
