Tonight when i got home i noticed a funny smell coming from my '93 325is after i turned off my car. I pinpointed it coming from the exhaust. It smelled like sulfur or rotten eggs. Does anyone know what this could be?

Probably the fuel you're using.

Rotten egg smell is characteristic of cats going or gone bad.
Never heard of significant amt of sulfur in gas, if any. Usually, it's in sour crude.

It could be your catylitic converters, or the actual baffles in your muffler could be corroded.

One word -- M60.

Try a different brand for a couple of fillups.

i also have this problem on my 95 / e36 / m3
only really notice it when i drive it hard though...just crusing im fine but if i mash it up high racing or whatnot it smells of sulfur pretty bad.

any other thoughts besides the cat?

Notice that on mine after driving hard for a few minutes.
At first I though it might be the clutch pack, but I now think it is the cats although haven't smelled it since I had the car smogged in January.

classic sign of bad cats, time for a change.

I got a 325is also, and I used to have that problem after I drove it hard. I've heard people say it's the CATs going bad, but I don't believe so. I've passed smog twice since it started happening, so that's at least 2 years on these supposedly bad cats, and I live Cali with our strict emission laws.
I started going to a different gas station and that seemed to help, I never smell it anymore now.
