Should I take them off? Maybe I should not advertise what's under the hood. Not that too many people will know what Dinan is... TitaniumSeeker 11-28-2005, 09:51 PM Do you think the badges are too much? Should I take them off? Maybe I should not advertise what's under the hood. Not that too many people will know what Dinan is... IMO, having both badges is a little much. Either keep the DINAN 7 and remove the 740I or be stealthy and remove the DINAN 7 badge. sirtiger 11-28-2005, 10:38 PM very sweet ride :cool AZE32 11-29-2005, 12:41 PM Just curious on power numbers, any idea on your hp/torque? Titanium Beast 11-30-2005, 12:11 AM IMO, having both badges is a little much. Either keep the DINAN 7 and remove the 740I or be stealthy and remove the DINAN 7 badge. How do I take off the badges? Will it damage the paint? IchLiebeBMW 11-30-2005, 01:05 AM I love it! Thats so clean, its perfection. stever 11-30-2005, 01:20 AM I would get rid of the 740i badge as it's just repetive and do what Doug has done... http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/693000-693999/693634_36_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/693000-693999/693634_37_full.jpg Nice color by the way! How much is it for the full Dinan kit you have on your car? I think Dental Floss worked between the badge and the car will get it off. You might try a hairdryer first to loosen the glue. Thanks for posting, Steve R Titanium Beast 11-30-2005, 01:52 AM I purchased the car with Dinan already installed. I checked with local licensed Dinan installers and the most reasonable cost for what I have in the car was approx. $4,750.00; BMW dealership quote was almost double. Thanks for the advise on badge removal. Titanium Beast 11-30-2005, 01:58 AM Just curious on power numbers, any idea on your hp/torque? I believe 315/351. Thanks for the advise on badge removal. Yep, dental floss does the trick. You will need to remove some residual sticky stuff after that...but it is not hard to do. Mine came off with a small amount of glass cleaner and a cotton towel. Do you have a serial number badge under the hood from Dinan as well? Should be on the right front side under the hood. Nice car! I have your twin! Titanium Beast 11-30-2005, 02:25 AM Yep, dental floss does the trick. You will need to remove some residual sticky stuff after that...but it is not hard to do. Thanks in advance. norcale28 11-30-2005, 02:30 AM mui caliente! sweet ride! maybe you guys can settle a bet for me. a friend of mine says that the 740i and the 740il are the same length. i say that the 740i is shorter. who is correct? The 740i is shorter by about 6 inches. BMWJohn 11-30-2005, 05:43 AM G'day guys, the E-38 was a great shape, then based off the E-39 5 series, I loved that car. I have just taken delievery of a BMW 2006 7 Series, its my pride and joy. Beautiful cars, have been buying them for 17 years now and wouldnt change to mercades-benz for the promise of a pension... Love the cars here, and BMW looks pretty good and most look amazing. SR740il 11-30-2005, 09:50 AM I have not checked for the badge under the hood, but will let you know. By the way, how should I put on the Dinan deck lid badge? Thanks in advance. If you call or write to Dinan with your serial number they will send you (I think for free...I'm sure you pay the shipping) the cutout adhesive for the back of your existing Dinan badge. You will just need to apply. (double sided sticky) stever 11-30-2005, 10:26 AM Thanks for the Dinan install price info. It's a bit too rich for me right now, though! Enjoy your car. Steve R TitaniumSeeker 11-30-2005, 03:25 PM Thanks for the Dinan install price info. It's a bit too rich for me right now, though! Enjoy your car. Steve R Ahah! Here is one to whom the "Disease" has not reached.... Fear not, for it will come ...... It...Will....Come........ No badge under the hood. I think you get the badge when you purchase one of the Signature Series. SR740il 11-30-2005, 05:39 PM No badge under the hood. I think you get the badge when you purchase one of the Signature Series. You have enough points with your mods...PLUS...you can not get the decklid badge without a serial number...unless they go on E-bay and do it the "wrong" way. :shifty Titanium Beast 11-30-2005, 05:59 PM You have enough points with your mods...PLUS...you can not get the decklid badge without a serial number...unless they go on E-bay and do it the "wrong" way. So, where is it exactly? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. I see all the upgrades, including cold air intake and free flow exhaust... Thanks. SR740il 11-30-2005, 06:51 PM So, where is it exactly? Sorry I dont have a pic to show you... 2dynamic 12-01-2005, 12:39 AM Very Nice 7-Series- Does anyone know if the Stage 4 Engine software indicated in the description of the vehicle-is a Dinan product? I see the throttle and the exhaust packages on the Dinan web site- yet not the engine software- I am most interested in determining its origin. Impressive work on the 7-Series. Yes, here is the quote from the Dinan site. You would not want Stage4 without the goodies he added to the car: "Stage 4 Engine Software is for use with the High Flow Air Mass Meter, Throttle Body and Cold Air Intake, optimizing performance and drivability." |
