I have a 1995 740il that someone left the lights on a few nights ago. The car started the next morning a I pulled it into the garage, and shut it off, I really didn't let it run very long. Mistake one. the next day I pulled it out of the garage, and turned it off again. Now it won't start. The battery checks good. What could need resetting? or checking?

what do you mean by..."the battery checks good"? A weak battery in an e38 can illumnate the lights, horn will work, radio will come on, etc...but turn the key in the ignition and you can get absolutely nothing!
Have you unlocked your OBC? If not...go here to learn how to: http://users2.ev1.net/~giray/E38secretdisplays.htm
If you do a TEST #9 (after unlocking) you can see the output of your battery (with the car NOT running...but ignition in position 2). If the range is consistently between 10.5v-11.5v...the battery is shot! If you get a reading between 11.8v-12.5v...then you have another problem.

Thanks for the reply, but it has a brand new battery in it. Is there a fuse associated with just the starter, or could it be some other reset that must be made after battery replacement. Everything worked great up until the battery went low.

Does turning the key give you anything? Or does the motor at least try to turn over?
