Cruisin at about 40mph in a 45mph for some reason. I see some halogens in my rearview mirror, and suddenly I hear the engine of this A6 revving as it slowly approaches me. This guy definitely had exhaust of some sort. I remain at 40, let him pass, and then floor it to get ahead for a sec. He, who has his front bumper at my front wheels, floors it and I follow soon after. He steadily pulls all the way up to 80-85mph, and when we slow down, he has about 3/4 CL on me (you could fit 3/4 of a small car in between his rear and my front bumper :D ). Anyway, I am not too accustomed to losing those 40 mph rolls, so I motioned for the guy to roll down his window at the next light. He did, and I asked him what he had done to his car. All he said was "stage three."

Here is where I am baffled. What does "stage three" mean, and how much hp do you think his ride was pushing? Thanks.

PS. I am 95% sure he was auto tranny.

stage three is sick. with just a chip on the 2.7 biturbo, you boost to 318hp and 382 lb-ft (93 octane). Stage three includes two Audi RS4 turbos, RS4 mass air flow meter and turbo inlet plumbing, RS4 aluminum top air distribution y pipe, RS4 fuel injectors, and RS4 fuel pump. The kit turns out 412 hp and 482 lb-ft of torque on 93 Octane. Add RS4 intercoolers, hoses, ducts, and an APR 3" turboback exhaust and will probobly end up with 450hp and hell, 530(?) ft-lb (educated guess on tq)

Maybe he wasn't trying....:D . But, when we were just cruising next to eachother, it sounded like an auto (the shiftpoints) and he was driving with his right hand on the wheel the whole time.

yea he was definitely messing with you, a stage 3 2.7tt a4 would pull much more then 3/4 of a car on you. nice run though

Well, I've always wondered when people accuse another car of messin' with you...how does the guy in the other car guage how hard he should push it? I mean, if a stock Kia was revving me, I wouldn't just go half throttle, I'd go all the way to show him what he's messing with. Just a thought...

he could still have a stock tranny....of course it may only last another week...and maybe thats why he was taking it a little easy....jmo

I have raced a stock A6 2.7T auto in my 330ci. It wasn't even close, I really left the guy in the dust...so he def. had some mods to be able to get ahead of you like that, I don't know if he had a stage III, but he def. had something! Nice race though. :)

Right, Stage III would have blown by you pretty quick. He was either just messing, or didn't really have a functioning Stage III.
