I just got my E30 back from the shop because I had it swapped to a 5spd from the slushbox. So my friend and i decided to see how my car would perform against his moms 2002 530i ( his car is in the shop:devillook ).

We went to a nearby deserted road near our houses.....

We started from a 5mph roll. The 530 is about a nose ahead then i quickly shift into second and get ALOT of wheelspin and he pulls about a car. When i chirped into third i started gaining on him and when we shut down he was about a little less than half a car. The race ended at around 80mph.

I am overall very pleased with how my car performed, I think the 4.10 LSD helped me alot. My car is bone stock besides the 4.10. I think if i did not spin so much going into second i would have been right with him and possibly would have pulled at the top of 3rd gear:D

Good run. I was kinda surprised how quickly you made up that half or so car length in 3rd. Well see how it fairs against the 323..:cool :evil2

lol I think the 530 has gotton more kills that the 323.

with the 4.10 i would think u should have pulled him good from the start and he would start to catch up when reaching higher speeds

i wanna know how you chirped them going into 3rd. Did you not let off the gas? :dunno

wit that high of a gear ratio its pretty easy.....with my 3.73 i could chirp 3rd gear all day long....

Not that hard with a 4.10 diff.

Hell, i've seen guys bark 4th with the right gearing on e30s

530 5spd or step auto?

was the DSC off in the 530?

Chip your E30. You should be neck and neck if you don't have traction problems.:)

if i were you i would invest in a 6spd soon :devillook
you will need it if you end up doing any constant highway driving
