I am mad/sad/irritated/confused.
Some guy by the cardomain s/n of austine30 decided he was going to bash my taste in my guestbook and say that I was ricing out my car. When I have got nothing but compliments about it. Why do ppl have to be dicks just because I dont want to put an IS body kit on it and euro ellipsods and actually do something different to an e30?

can you give us some more daytime pics? It's hard to see the car. The only thing on the mod list that's really rice is the back-glow gauges. Those are usually reserved for the Civic crowd. BMW purists love the reddish orange gauges. Studies have actually shown that that hue is better than most on your eyes and legibility wise at a glance.

Oh I see. This is very true. I dont get how you can generalize a BMW personality. Its just things that i think would look good.

I like the big body kit because I think it brings it a little more out of the 80's.
I really really like my rims, and everyone thinks they are BBS so I dont see how they are rice either. (thats what the guy said.)
The blue lighting is to my preference just because I like blue instead of red. ( Its not like im putting huge Tacs in my car and crap)

But then again what do I know, this is my first BMW and im into the whole drifting and street racing part of it, Maybe its because im young?

You have received the following new message(s) in your guestbook for your BMW 3-Series:
Posted by austine30 11/21/2005, 05:27am
Why are you ricing out that car? Put some nice euro ellipsoids on, throw that Depo garbage in the trash. TSW wheels are for Hondas... and the bodykit you want is huge/bulky/distasteful.

mose121

notice that he posted at 5:27am? I'm not sure someone that's most likely still up after an all night bender is someone you should give a damn about what they say. But again, let's see some better pics and links to the body kit you want. TSW's are generally found on jap-cars, so you will probably always take some flak for it. I would maybe try and trade for a set of ASA's or something that seems a bit more "accepted" in the BMW community.

O I see TSW's like on Benz's and BMW's mostly around here. Wierd. All the jap cars around here have those Enkei wheels. And I can see where this body kit would be considered Rice but I think its teh coolness.

I don't see anything "rice" about either one. And Reiger certainly does not make rice. Anyone who says that should take a trip to germany and find out how wrong they are. I personally prefer the top pic though. Both look pretty euro to me. Sounds like you ran into a bimmersnob. One of those people who thinks their BMW is better than everyone else's.

Well seems like my taste is more Euro then I thought..
Thats the main reason why I would think anyone would have thought I was going rice..
All I have to say is....Fuckin A.
Alright, Thank you for clarifying because I was seriously asking if my taste was a jap or if it was euro because I seriously did not know. Thanks alot.
And to Dean your joke I found funny, but Adeel kinda took it too far and stuff unless his humor i just dont understand and vance didnt explain himself.
thanks sewickley for taking the time to discuss this matter, really cleared things up.

Yay! Put ASAs on your car and look like every other BMW on this forum! :clap

Last I checked, ASAs are made in Japan, and make a lot of setups for the "rice" crowd as well. The only reason they're popular is because Tire Rack has them and they're cheap as hell.

TSWs are a high-quality brand and inexpensive at the same time. As one of my main brands, I've had three sets woth no issues at all...typically they'll spin up better than 90% of the Lowenharts and AMG wheels I carry. Check out Beyern wheels are well...they're made by TSW and are made only for BMWs. Plus, TSW has a Porsche-specific and M Benz specific line coming out soon.

Hardly rice, as you can see. Give the guy credit for not looking like every other e30 on this board.

I believe you're correct when you say ASA wheels are manufactured in Japan, but they are licensed by BBS who is perhaps the largest wheel manufacturer in the world and most would say the most respected. And nothing is more German than BBS when it comes to wheels.

TSW > ASA

They only thing they licensed was the design of the wheels, nothing more. There is absolutley 0% BBS "DNA" in those wheels, just the design of the spokes.
